"I was hoping it had something to do with the "dead in Christ rising first" and we were going Home. Unfortunately, it wasn't"
Awwww, diddums. Your (C)Rapture stiffy smashed down by the cruel, ice-cold shovel of Reality? Good. Got news for ya, pal: California's been having them since colonisation of North America by settlers (no doubt Millerites in California in the mid-19th Century thought the same way as you did). In fact, way before then. Fortunately, I'm happy to burst your 'Apocalypse' bubble, SummerFailing81. >:D
I love the smell of annihilated arguments - and obliterated Raptards' hopes - in the morning. Smells like... victory.
"But, I think it's another sign that Jesus pointed to that would be happening in the last days - earthquakes in divers places because when you think of earthquakes, you don't immediately think of VA."
Nor between Lincoln & Market Rasen, here in the UK:

Yet, we did. In all my born days, I'd never experienced an earthquake, so it was quite a surprise when I felt this 5.2er here in Hull just over three years ago. The feeling of being on a fairground 'Cakewalk' ride (whilst not as violent) was disconcerting, but I must admit to it not being an unpleasant experience, precisely because it was a unique experience for this 'ere Brit (understandable for you good peeps in the US - especially in & around the West Coast - to be more blase about 'quakes; with regularity of such, so near a tectonic fissure, thus regulations to make structures 'quake-resistant & all that jazz).
The only sign indicated to me was 'Oh, I must put back up my Fate T. Harlaown* figurine that had fallen over'. Civil Partnerships had become legal way before then, and still go on after that 'quake, so I guess a so-called 'God' had fuck all to do with it, and was purely down to tectonic stress/shifting.
I love the smell of annihilated arguments - and obliterated Raptards' hopes - in the morning. Smells like... victory II.

I'll second your sentiment towards dionysus via this highly appropriate screengrab from the anime series "DearS" (imagine a cross-between the film/TV series "Alien Nation, combined with the manga/anime "Chobits", and a West End farce starring Brian Rix, sans trousers):

You can 'wish', Ruptured Retards...! [/Spartan Laconic Wit] >:D

@Anon2
"Does anybody know whether any of the usual suspects (Rush Limbaugh, Fred Phelps etc.) has already linked the earthquake to the legalization of same-sex marriage?"
Not sure at this end (and no doubt someone will in due course), but they can 'try' [/Spartan Laconic Wit II]. However, I refer you - and them - to what I stated above. Thus it's only you who doesn't Fail.
