[The other fundies have also been freaking out about Maleficent]
When Maleficent came out....I saw in it in the trailers as something about sleeping beauty...or very close to it.
But I was more drawn to what the word mean't.....so I looked it up.
maleficent: working or productive of harm and evil
I told my daughters....there is enough evil in the world today....we don't need to expose our minds more than we need to.

Ugh, these people!! Why are they so worried about the effects from a blatant work of fiction?
Wait, they believe in the Bible as 10000000% true and accurate, right?
...nevermind.
I'm sure your daughters are totally going to turn evil because the title of the movie they watched had a big word in it (that they didn't understand the meaning of) that meant "evil". By the way, Maleficent was the name of the villain in Sleeping Beauty because Disney is about as subtle as a speeding train. However, in this movie she's more of an anti-hero.
I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate Walt Disney Pictures for their movies. Although it is obvious to every normal person that they are, almost without exception, watered-down versions of ancient fairy tales meant for light entertainment, they inevitably provoke panicked reactions of foaming-at-the-mouth fundies who see symbols and signs of devilish takeover by means of family evening flicks.
And for that, I salute them.
Actually the movie was kind of about redemption. A classic tale retold from the viewpoint of the villain in Sleeping Beauty.
I thought it sucked but to think it was too evil for your daughters...fuck...it isn't half as evil as the bullshit you are forcing them to swallow in your stupid, dumb ass religion.
"we don't need to expose our minds more than we need to."
I - who have seen the "Saw" & "Hostel" films - haven't seen the "Human Centipede" films, nor am I interested in doing so.
So you who have seen (no doubt fapped to!) so many times "The Passion of the Christ": "Hostel"-esque 'Torture Porn' for fundies, think a Disney film starring Atheist Angelina Jolie is infinitely worse than a couple of films I'm not even remotely interested in...?!
Oh, and those 'fairy stories'. I suggest you never read the originals , if you know what's good for you, as they are "Saw"-level gory. But then, on a past instalment of Mark Kermode's film reviews on BBC Radio 5, he interviewed the then head of the BBFC (during the release of "Passion of the Christ", in light of it's gore), who stated that if a film of the Bible was made - using Scripture as the screenplay itself - such a film wouldn't even get an 'R-18' rating by the BBFC for private film clubs. Because the ultra-gory scenes in the Old Testament alone would warrant the police seizing the film under the Obscene Publications Act. [/Hosea 13:16]

It's been one of my theories that the fundamentalists believe every fucking story ever told, it's just that they're all evil unless they praise God a lot.
After all, once you literally believe in talking snakes, splitting seas or angelic visitations the fables of every culture become realer. These are the "anythings possible" people, especially if anything can scare you.
My daughters, the feeble light through the basement door illuminating the tear streaks etched in the grime of their faces, agreed with me, wholeheartedly, as soon as I raised my cane.
" Yes Daddy", they sobbed, their chains gently rattling against the bare metal bed frame. "You're completely right".
I smiled, told them they were good girls and resolved to allow them some small pieces of gristle in their nightly gruel.
Confused?
