a.) With an attitude like that, what makes you think God WANTS a brat like you anywhere near him?
b.) What makes you think we'll miss you?
If the Rapture does come, you'll probably lose your ticket in those scant few minutes.
Have fun here with the rest of us! :)
The "rapture" dogma is unbiblical and is an invention of Mr. Darby, some 150 years ago. It was perpetuated and expanded upon by Mr. Schofield and his annotated bible. These are man made doctrines, foisted upon believers. They have NO validity, and are a hodge-podge of cherry picked verses, taken out of context and misinterpreted to fit some fantasy.
There is and will be no rapture, even if the bible were true. It is unbiblical nonsense.
Exactly.
And where's the fun in that if you can't participate in your god's heavenly torture of people you don't like?
You should make up new stuff about this rapture stuff. Something that allows some audience participation.
Well, aren't YOU going to be surprised when the "supposed" rapture never happens. Neener, neener, neener!
Faith giveth the guilt, and it taketh away.
You know, at least the Lazarus parable didn't preach anything about becoming a stuck-up snot in heaven like you seem to think. But that's not a very good story anyway -- Lazarus got teh win, but the whole thing was pretty much manipulation from the start.
Dad: "Wave bye-bye, kids! There go the True Christians[TM]! Bye-bye!"
Mom: "Wait, did you hear something? It kinda sounded like, 'neener-neener-neener.'"
Dad: "Why would--oh, shit! He's coming down! Look out, that one's falling right out of the sky!"
Mom: "Grab the kids! Run! Christian at 12 o'clock!"

Boy, are you ever in for a surprise...
Yeah, then wouldn't you be feeling sick when you find out, after the rapture, that there are no gold mansions - only stripper factories and beer volcanoes.
You see that's not fair, we non-beleivers never get that "I told you so moment" because you guys, for like 1000 years, keeping moving the target date.
I honest;y can't believe that there are so many people in the world that literally think that Jesus is coming to take them to heaven...imminently. It is really mind boggling to me.
But still my flesh wants that " told you so "
isn't that pride?
i thought you fucknugget fundies classed that as a sin.
oh well, have fun "burning" in your imaginary "hell" with us then. ^_^
Ironically, we have been giving you the "neener neener neener" since you wrote this over 3 years ago.
My guess is that it will continue into the foreseeable future.
Its okay Heartstorm, every single person who believes in The Rapture feels exactly the same way you do. Petty vengeance fantasies are one of the main appeals of The Rapture. Without such fantasies, The Rapture would never have survived as an idea.
It also explains why the rest of us are so thrilled at the idea of seeing your lot go. its a shame it will never happen: ahem, neener neener.
>>I know once we are raptured then we will be soooooo overjoyed we won't even think of those we tried to reach. <<
Forgive me for thinking that that sounds like exactly the opposite of what Christ said. "Love the neighbor" != "forget about them".
I think that the Buddhist ideal of the bodhisattva (that those who are truly enlightened exist to help all other sentient beings) is closer to what Christ taught than any vengeance-tainted strain of Christianity.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
