The paradox is (which you couldn't possibly understand) is that no one is MORE free than having elected to become a slave of Christ.

Makes as much sense as an all loving God and all those other ridiculous paradoxes you people weave becasue you refuse to acknowledge the evidence does not fit the assertation.
In other words, it's not a paradox, it's a lie!
Nothing like the good old fashioned freedom is slavery arguement, but what if its not true? Everyone knows there is no evidence that the bible is true. You have to accept it on faith. That means that there is a good chance that you are not a slave to Christ, but a slave to a doctrine.
I still can't read this without getting an image of Mr Humphries from "Are you Being Served" dressed up like Mr Slave from South Park, going, "I'm Free!"
I'm guessing that's not quite what the author had in mind.
"Paradox - An assertion that is essentially self-contradictory, though based on a valid deduction from acceptable premises."
Any chance this guy included some valid deductions, or acceptable premises?
On an episode of "CSI" that dealt with BDSM relationships, Grissom said, "Actually, the submissive is the one with the power in the relationship. Whenever he feels uncomfortable with how things are going, he just has to say the secret 'release' word, and everything stops."
Is that how one is "free" in being a "slave" to Jesus? Kind of a kinky relationship, if you ask me.

Well technically this is true if the choice was between slaveship to one or more harsh and restrictive masters and slaveship to just one benevolent and liberal one.
E.g. If you believed that you were a slave to numerous passions and sins and open to perpetual exploitation by countless demons who act continually against your best interests. And furthermore believe that only by becoming a slave to Christ can you be rid of these demons and impure passions and that in return Christ will guide your life for you and free you from worries about your future. Then yes, you would believe you were much freer under the latter option.
So yes I do understand, but not believing in gods, demons or Christ, I just don't agree.

Oh, there's no paradox. You've just summed up what right-wing Fundamentalist Christianity equates to - George Orwell's "1984":
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
Fortunately, WWII ensured such a totalitarian world will never come to pass. And it's ultimate outcome - Freedom - will ensure that we democratic countries will never have theocracies like those you & your way of thinking would like to impose upon us.
Atheism (and it's Humanist philosophy & morals): Absolute Freedom.
Confused?
