Yep, the time is waxing thin! There are far too few people who have actual feelings anymore. Everyone's in it for themselves. Makes me wanna (puking smiley)
Really, Miss "I'm gonna get whisked to heaven, while the rest of you BUUUUURN?"
Political Correctness has shut people up these days
No, it just makes people think about statements aimed specifically to hurt a person or group. Sorry if you can't just puke out hateful remarks anymore.
Diversity divides
No, people jumping up and down screaming about how immoral or evil every minority is in comparison to your immaculate facade...sorry, visage...is what divides.
Multi-culturalism accentuates our differences not our common ground
So, basically, everyone should just be like you, and you'll be happy? Sorry, honey, not how it works.
We're no longer One Nation Under God
Well we weren't before, either, until McCarthy decided that that little ditty was some sort of Commie Kryptonite.
We're such a totally divided nation now, much to our demise.
And with such a divisive element like you guys, small wonder.
In the fifties, (I think of Happy Days) everyone still went to church, moms were at home, kids went to school - came home - had a snack and went out and played until the street lights came on, then the whole family had dinner together, had a little bonding time, went to bed and started all over the next day.
Ah, yes, looking to old TV shows as an accurate portrayal of what it was. Guess what honey? People that believe in the consensus religion were tarred, feathered, and made into social Pariahs, Mom's were made to be quiet little fraus, completely subservient to their man...several were beaten if they "got out of line," much like several kids were, the "together" family dinners and bonding were largely a farce to show the Joneses just how perfect their family was, while a loveless marriage festered beneath the mask, they went to bed, barely touching, possibly in separate beds, and yes, then they woke up and started it all again anew. The past wasn't just the peachy keen golly gosh wonderful that it's portrayed as.
What started to ruin it all? IMHO; God taken out of schools, the Feminist movement, Roe v. Wade, etc...
God never was taken out of school...the state just can't make support of any religion. A kid can pray, just to himself, and not disruptively. The feminist movement was probably the best thing to happen to women, as it allowed them to become actual, self-sufficient people, and as for Roe v. Wade, you complain now, but if your daughter came home knocked up after thinking that the rhythm method of protection is any damn good, you'd likely trot her off to the nearest abortion clinic so fast, you'd leave skid marks on the kitchen tile.
There's no goin' back, but luckily, we all have the Blessed HOPE to come!
*sigh*
