[Re: someone reading Norse mythology]
I would be concerned. It is good be doesn't believe in it.
The Norse Mythology twists scripture (not always a "fable") and speaks of a group of peoples who escaped the Gen. flood on a boat, and these people were of the god Odin, a norse god.
Get him into true scripture and have some laughs at the comical norse tomten/trolls and drawings.

And yet somehow, by some wild chance, I'd be more inclined to believe in the concept of Odin and the Norse deities than a comical skyfairy that saw fit to damn his own creation, then massacre 99% of it.
Fucker.
Yes, Bergelmir and his wife survived a deluge of Ymir's blood after he was killed by Odin.
So now you're upset that Snorri may have borrowed elements from the Bible for a flood story? I agree, I think Christianity twisted the old stories around to suit its own ends as well. Snorri was a Christian by the way.
Since Norse Mythology was around before the Christians got there, how is it they twisted around the Genesis flood?
Get a grip people, your religion is as much fairy tale as any other one out there.
Yeah. Whatever. The Norse gods are awesome and aren't as stuck up as the Christian God.
Seeing how this cosmic prankster "tells" each side that he's got their back and then gets both sides to kill each other, I'm more inclined to believe that he's got a lot more in common with Odin than you think. :P
Norse mythology is born.
The Norse tale of the flood is made up.
Christianity is born.
Christianity rewrites history to clarify the fact that the Norse flood is actually corruption of the Genesis flood, not the other way around.
Skynet becomes self-aware and begins learning at a geometric rate.
Damn. I thought this was the second fundy husband to be reading Norse mythology, but it's the same one.
A revival might have been nice.

SITCOM CONCEPT: A middle-class, respectable, Bettie Bowers-type Christian housewife is married to a Viking warrior. High jinx ensue.
Pilot episode: Olaf wants to go raping and pillaging with his warriors, but his wife needs a hand making sandwiches for her bridge club meeting. When Olaf tries to secretly stage his rape n' pillage in the ajoining room, laughter, fun and blood are plentiful!
"The Norse Mythology twists scripture..."
Yeah, and that fucker Edison stole my idea for the light bulb.
HOW DARE HE !!! He can't hold his mead, otherwise he wouldn't be spewing such Mooseshite ! Only real men pray to ODIN !!! Women pray to this, Geezuz, or however you pronounce him.
He died twice, pah ! I used to tie myself to a tree, every Wednesday !
Guess who will NOT be joining us in the great halls of the slain; VALHALLA !!!
Oh yeah and before I forget, without us GODS of the NORTH, your god couldn't even have created the earth in days, because WE CREATED THE DAYS !!! Wednesday's mine, Thursday's my son's. He swings a big hammer, I'm very...veery proud.
@MrBadAxe : Worship the holy trinity of Erik, Baleog, and Olaf.
Wouldn't Urdr, Verdandi, and Skuld be a better trinity, as the Fates-equivalent?
Norse heaven smashes Fundy heaven into the fucking dust any day of the week. Which is more epic, fighting all day and drinking and humping all night with no ill effects from any of it, or sitting around playing harps all day long?

Well, having them live with him is the fate of Keiichi Morisato in the manga/anime "Ah! My Goddess".
(His long-running manga story being inspired by Norse mythology was a masterstroke on Kosuke Fujishima's part. And it's long-running proves that fact.)
@Osiris
"Your just pissed because Ragnarök is more epic then Armageddon."
Fenrir would rape the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and have the Beast for breakfast.
You people have really gotta get over the "Bible preceeds all myths" attitude. Many cultures had their myths before the Dead sea Scrolls were produced which are older than your Bible.
Many other myths (Mithra) were adapted into the modern Bible. Your Bible is one of the late comers not even remotely the oldest.
The Norse and Greek are both older with no influence from your Bible or the Torah
Confused?
