On the other hand, the standardized tests (both placement and end-of-grade) are constantly being 'dumbed-down' so as to allow those in the public schools to feel like they are succeding. In the real world, many end up becomming people who do not have the common sense to get out of a city which is below sea level and in the path of a catagory 5 hurricane (New Orleans) .
We have already addressed the Biblical admonshments from the Word of God to the parents to train their children. But then, if the Word of God admonishes you to do something, do you really care?

Documentation for that, Randy?

Gotta love that Christian compassion for people too poor to afford cars.
Hey Randy,
I say this for all my fellow native New Orleanians:
FUCK YOU!
And I'm grateful for the good Catholic education I got there, which provided me with the critical thinking tools that gave me the good sense to get out of a religion that only fills people with hate and ignorance.
Brother, that was a cheap shot for the sake of a cheap shot. You know that was unnecessary, and you know that was uncalled for.
"On the other hand, the standardized tests (both placement and end-of-grade) are constantly being 'dumbed-down' so as to allow those in the public schools to feel like they are succeding. In the real world, many end up lacking essential knowledge and real-world skills"
Fixed.

In the real world, many end up becomming people who do not have the common sense to forsee that a category 5 hurricane would flood New Orleans. Also they would vote for said person for president.
I think that those test were dumbed down specially for you Bro.Randy, and your faulty spelling. Not to mention the fact that those cities you mentioned were built when those test had those high standards, let alone the fact that you contradict their "Word admonished" nature(are they God's punishment or a natural consequence?)

Almost there... a bit extreme, but he's right about tests with their standards set too high being changed.
In the real world, many end up becomming people who do not have the common sense to get out of a city which is below sea level and in the path of a catagory 5 hurricane (New Orleans).
...and then it all goes bye-bye.

...Well, Randy? Do you? Or is that having compassion for the poor nonsense to be ignored?
"But then, if the Word of God admonishes you to do something, do you really care?"
No, not in the least. Before I will care you will have to prove that God exists and that the admonishment in question is actually his word.
If every parent spent a few decades in university getting degrees in science, languages, math, humanities, the fine arts, physical education, then sure... homeschooling would be great. Of course, parents would be in their 30's and only be able to produce 4 or 5 kids...
If there's any dumbing down going on, a lot of it is probably due to schools' mad scrambles to retain funding under No Child Left Behind.
@Seamus D--Testify! I'm not in NO, but about a third of my town's population came here from there after Katrina. I had a student who had to share an apartment with 19 other people (and I'm not counting his wife).
Well, Randy, Sydney has a gay pride parade every year and nothing bad has happened to us yet.
You wanna tell me why that is?
Bro. Randy would probably say Australia isn't God's "special" country and isn't worthy of as much attention.
Though from what I've heard, Sydney just doesn't have "a" gay pride parade, they have one of the best in the world.
Well, Randy, Sydney has a gay pride parade every year and nothing bad has happened to us yet.

Sydney isn't in the US or the Bible, so it doesn't exist.
Or some equally fundietarded tripe, I'm sure.
Oh no! My 780/780/690 on the SAT is worthless now?! What about my 780/780/710 on the SAT IIs?! ... Those are worthless too?! Damn it.
Seems like Randy's just trying to justify the fact that the kids on his forum are pulling down mediocre scores. Then he realized that if the tests were 'dumbed-down' (That shouldn't be hyphenated by the way, but I guess I don't know as much about grammar as Bro. Randy, seeing as I'm only publik skooled.) that his kids should be getting higher scores as well. He then threw in that cheap shot at New Orleans to distract everybody from his own blatant mental shortcomings.
Honestly Randy, your non sequiturs are becoming (Which only has one 'm' ...) predictable.
Yes. Let's leave the city and live in our truck for the rest of our lives, because our house was destroyed and we have nowhere to go.
Ingenious, Randy.
You and all your underage prostitutes should run for President and his cabinet.
Indeed, #295260. I may be misanthropic, caustic, cynical, lazy, and occasionally stupid and/or violent, but I've got nothing on Bro. Jackass here.
Well, Randy, Sydney has a gay pride parade every year and nothing bad has happened to us yet.
Because if God tried anything funny to Sydney, one of your Taxi drivers would get out and give hima frickin' lesson he's take a while to forget.
I live in Brisbane. Sydney rocks. Way bigger than us.
But then, if the Word of God admonishes you to do something, do you really care?
You certainly don't seem to.
Confused?
