Notice how everyone who supports abortion so strongly was born alive

What...the...FUCK?! So, everyone who supports abortion (we don't actually support abortion, we support a woman's right to choose) was born...alive? Um...so was everyone who is anti-abortion/pro-unborn life. What in the hell is your problem? What are you trying to say? Learn English, then try to talk to other people. You won't look so much like a fucking reject.
So? Doesn't mean I automatically support the anti-choice side. That's like saying "this group of people was born white, therefore, they must agree with my views about those of other races."
P.S. I WOULDN'T be alive if my mother hadn't had an abortion earlier, because my mum would be DEAD. She had an abortion because that pregnancy went wrong and was threatening her life, and she went on to have my brother and I with no great complications.
1. When will you igoramuses get it? The term is Pro-CHOICE!I do not support abortion, I wish that there was no need for the procedure. I do however support a woman's right to the CHOICE to have one or not.
2. I have yet to hear of a stillborn supporting anything - this argument is so stupid, it makes my teeth itch.
The real funny* thing? I bet rejecteddreams here thought that this was the argument, the indisputable logical triumph that would flummox those pro-baby-murderists once and for all.
*By "funny", I mean it makes me worry for humanity.
Firstly, we do not support abortion for cosmetic purposes.
Secondly, the vast majority of abortions are for medical reasons where the life of the mother-to-be is in danger, or the fetus has ceased to develop and is thus dead in any case.
Thirdly, the choice is up to the woman, and I assume that either you are not a woman, or if not, never had to cope with a bad pregnancy.
Fourthly, abortion is not in ANY bible unless you have pencilled it in during the last 5 minutes.
So you were born DEAD?
That explains a lot.
O_o Uh, Michael...
1. How exactly does one have an abortion for "cosmetic purposes"? I mean, the anti-choice side does try to make it SEEM like women who get abortions are probably having pedicures at the same time (unless they think it's torture and all women regreat it), but that's just not the case.
2. The vast majority of abortions are NOT done for medical reasons. That is only true for the very small percentage of abortions that occur within the third trimester.
As lulz as this argument tends to be, it's not really anything new (obviously, he means that foetuses don't get a say, but it's still good to snicker at).
This is the opposite of the quote detailing how murder=killing=death, isn't it?
Why are these guys so intent on stating the bloody obvious? If they're not spewing verbal diarrhoea, they're finding new and inventive ways to redfine common sense. Nutcases.
My counter to your argument, if you can call it that, is that my brother was born dead and revived.
Birth seems to be shaky ground for fundies anyway. They seem to have this idea that you can be reborn in the middle of your life.
Hm. What about my cousin? He was born with no detectable heartbeat (IIRC, anyway; it might have been a very slow, weak and irregular heartbeat, but my point still stands) not breathing, blue skin from lack of oxygen...
He is now in his mid-twenties and doing a double degree.
And yes, he is pro-choice.
Sorry, you lose.
If they weren't, they couldn't.
@michael: "Secondly, the vast majority of abortions are for medical reasons where the life of the mother-to-be is in danger, or the fetus has ceased to develop and is thus dead in any case."
I don't know where you live, but in the US (where the fundie Captain Obvious probably is) it's about 5-10% (depending on who you believe) because of medical reasons, though I believe that includes things like cystic fibrosis where it would be born alive but would have an unpleasant life.
The situation you describe would be much better, and would be OK with most (sane) pro-lifers. I don't know anyone personally who would be bothered by THOSE abortions.
Dammit, Moondog beat me to it!
Well, OK, so get the opinion of a dead fetus, and report back with the results. We'll wait.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there were none of them.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
Psalms 139:13-17
@ FOTM, hmmmmmm nice, so god would so beautifully knit together a child born with physical disabilities?
I know he's a dick, but damn...
Dude, my ex-boyfriend's mom had that little gem taped to the fridge in their house. It was stupid then, it's stupid now, and it makes me glad I never had sex with him.
Confused?
