This is why you fundies will eventually fade away from prominence. You don't care about loss of life, of the effects on the families and friends of these students who have had promising futures cut short. No, all you care about is that you didn't get to share your particular myth with them, and you wholeheartedly believe that this lack now condemns these people to eternity in hell.
The god you believe in is a sadistic fucker, and you are too whether you know it or not.
Wait, many people have been killed, their families experiencing a terrible loss and the most they give a shit about is that they didn't convert them to their craziness?
Wow, these people really don't give a shit about anyone or anthing.
Even more disturbing is Mrs. Debbie's post further down the thread where she makes no mention of this tragedy and just bitches about gun control.
There is also a guy with seriously misplaced priorities who says,
"Poor gunman. . .
Poor Students. . ."
What the fuck, man?
I was wondering how long it would take before something like this came up. Only hours later on the same day; is that a record?
I doubt that these people "didn't know the Lord" considering that not only was it in Virgina, which I believe has large numbers of serious Christians, but that most people in this country are, at least, nominally Christian.
I am relieved to see that this young lady is expressing sorrow for the deaths instead of claming it on a lack of God in schools or another slippery slope of that nature. However, on a fundamentalist site like this, I am expecting some people to say things like that sooner or later.
Here's the worst part. Bro. Randy thinks we should give guns to 16-17 year olds (after training them in their use) once they get their driver's/gun license. He thinks the way to solve this problem is throw more guns at it. *facepalm* Not surprising, coming from him, but still... I'm getting even more scared for those kids.
Morpheus, I doubt there's any clear cut answer when it comes to gun control, even on issues such as this. On the one hand, stronger gun control can't stop every lone nut from getting hold of weaponry and going on a rampage like this, especially if they don't snap until they already own the weapons.
On the other hand, I doubt that a reduction of gun control would have prevented massacres like this. Even if every student there posessed a gun, who takes a firearm and ammunition to a school, and keeps it readily accessible all through the day? At best, someone might have been able to cut the massacre short, but there's every chance the nut could still have dropped a few people before that. Besides, if every student was walking about with a gun looking for the intruder, there's a good chance some would end up mistakenly shooting each other, especially on short notice and in a state of heightened tension.
You're a stupid fucking twit. Show some compassion rather than blathering about your cult.
And let's face it, you don't need to tell people, because in a Western country, you can't NOT have already heard about Jesus and made a decision one way or another.
When I heard about the shooting, my first thought was:
"Those poor people, and their poor families."
Kirsten's first thought was:
"Oh no, that's 33 fewer people we can try to convert or damn to hell!"
That really bothers me.
If you look at it from their perspective, her 'lack of empathy' is anything but. She probably firmly believes that these people are now being hideously tortured. If you heard about 33 people getting shot and then face eternal torture, wouldn't you worry about said torture more than the shooting?
I don't think that there is anything obscenely wrong with what she said... it's the evangelical point of view. While I find many quotes on here hilarious and ignorant, some of you obviously have problems with Christianity in general, not just fundamentalism. While she does not seem to be aware that many if not most of the students and faculty in that academic building were Christians (heck, those Fundies probably think that most Christians in the U.S. go to schools like Liberty), and she is partially illiterate, she is not all that lost. Actually, if you put the quote in context on the thread on that board, it makes a lot more sense. See the previous post on T4C for a better idea.
Certainly not the worst thing said by someone from the evangelical/fundamentalist crowd about what happened. But still, something eats at you that there are really people out there who hear of the violent death of 33 people and the first thing they think of is converting others.

Highly amusing to watch crawdads get uppity about some blather.
Maybe you should give a damn about something that matters.
Maybe apply some of that self-righteous indignation you slather on so heavly for yourselves, that somebody somewhere might sometime have views that run counter to your.s
Hilliarous that it pisses off all y'all.
Nice to know that our evil machinations are work, and we're able to RUIN your days by sharing any old stupid thing that comes to mind, and you'll all jump on it to the exclusion of any sensible though to trash it, before ever noticing you've been skammed, duped, suckered and totally shafted in doing so.
Better entertainment than watching noah's animals do what animals do on the side of the ark.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
