"When's the last time an Atheist president said Christians shouldn't be considered patriots or even citizens?" - I dunno about an Atheist, but a so-called Christian president has said such about fellow Christians (read some of the documents associated with the Patriot act... and fundamentalist Christians like myself are listed among potential terrorists).
* "When's the last time an Atheist told you who you can and can't marry?" - When Statutory Rape laws were made.
"When's the last time an Atheist made it illegal for Christians to run for office or testify in court in several states?" - None yet, but trust me, there will come a time when this happens.
"When's the last time an Atheist banned Christians from a public funded group like the Boy Scouts?" - The Boy Scouts are a Christian-based group! A more appropriate question would be 'When was the last time an Atheist banned Christians from a public funded group like Planned Parenthood"... quite often.
"When's the last time an Atheist made you unable to shop at certain stores or go to the bank on certain days because of their beliefs?" - Lesee... Veteran's Day, New Year's Day, 4th of July... none of them are Christian holidays... hence they are secular holidays... meaning days Atheists have no qualms celebrating.

The irony explodes. This president, the Christian one is the one who said that about Atheists and remains UNAPOLLOGETIC.
The one which has irked me more is the one about statutory rape. One, in some states they allow girls or boys who, in principle, are minors to marry. In that case, that status disappears. Second, do you think a person who is say twelve or thirteen is ready to marry and take responsability on such an important thing like sex is?, or are you so fundamentalist AS TO BE IN FAVOUR OF THE CHILD BRIDES IN THE MUSLIM WORLD OR IN THE OLE BIBLE?

That doesn't answer the question, now does it? In fact, that really has nothing to do with the question!
"When's the last time an Atheist told you who you can and can't marry?" - When Statutory Rape laws were made.
Unless you have a lot of atheists in your state legislature, then, no. I'm betting those laws were passed by Christians.
Besides, so what? Children are children. What atheists are passing laws about what consenting adults can do in private? It wasn't a poorly-worded question, but you nitpicked your way out of answering it.
When's the last time an Atheist made it illegal for Christians to run for office or testify in court in several states?" - None yet, but trust me, there will come a time when this happens.
Well this is just stupid. You have absolutely no evidence that any atheist wants this, and in fact, I doubt getting such a law passed is even possible.
And yet you condemn atheists based on something you've dreamed up and accused them of.

Okay, I just don't understand what either of you are talking about here. Sorry.

Well, actually, since there is no code of atheism that tells us what days we aren't allowed to do what on, this is compltely wrong. The fact that we have secular holidays has nothing to do with atheists forcing their beliefs on anyone.
This post contains a glimpse at a fundie dictionary:
Terrorist : one who, for political reasons, uses violence and weapons, deliberately targets civilians, and does not focus mainly on military or government targets, excluding someone who targets gays, blacks, abortion clinics and other spawn of the devil with bombs, guns or anthrax letters.
Statutory Rape : a law designed by atheists to prevent God-fearing Christians like David Koresh from having sex with 11 year olds.
First Amendment : An atheistic law that withdraws government funding from groups who kick out homos, atheists and others heathen scum who violate Christian fundamentalist tests.
"When's the last time an Atheist banned Christians from a public funded group like the Boy Scouts?" - The Boy Scouts are a Christian-based group! A more appropriate question would be 'When was the last time an Atheist banned Christians from a public funded group like Planned Parenthood"... quite often.
First of all: No.
Second of all: relevance?
Ah, another point to add in the "Definition of a Fundie!"
A "Fundie" believes that anything that is not blatantly, obviously, and deliberately Christian in nature is automatically atheistic and sinful. This applies to music, movies, television, holidays, greeting cards, books, magazines, radio stations, schools, politicians, legislation, and anything else, although sports can be exempted as long as the athelete makes sure to "give the glory to God" in at least one post-game interview per season."
(read some of the documents associated with the Patriot act... and fundamentalist Christians like myself are listed among potential terrorists)
Gee, I wonder why that is...
"When's the last time an Atheist told you who you can and can't marry?" - When Statutory Rape laws were made.
Disturbing and (as far as I can tell) factually incorrect.
"When's the last time an Atheist made it illegal for Christians to run for office or testify in court in several states?" - None yet, but trust me, there will come a time when this happens.
Projecting your desire to forbid Muslims from running for office much?
"When's the last time an Atheist banned Christians from a public funded group like the Boy Scouts?" - The Boy Scouts are a Christian-based group! A more appropriate question would be 'When was the last time an Atheist banned Christians from a public funded group like Planned Parenthood"... quite often.
WTF?
A)Giving public funds to groups like the boyscouts (or more precisely some branches of the BS) that refuse or withdraw membership to people on a religious basis would violate the Establishment Clause. Withdrawing public funding in such a case is simply rectificating an error.
B) I know of no Xian who was refused access to the services of Planned Parenthood clinics when they wanted to use said services properly, except perhaps for fundies going hysterical at the last minute. Picketing a clinic doesn't qualify qualify as proper use of its service, and neither does trying to get your daughter to have an abortion against her will because you don't approve of the father. Or did you mean among the employees or administrators of said clinic? If someone's religious beliefs interfere with his job to the point that he starts disrupting the workplace, he should indeed be given the boot, particularly if he wilfully attempts to prevent the clinic from fulfilling its mission.

You do realize that Xian holidays far outnumber secular ones, don't you? Or that if one really wanted to be fair, either it should be secular holydays only or other religions should get public holidays of their own? :P
Sherman: What will you do to win the votes of the Americans who are atheists?
Bush: I guess I'm pretty weak in the atheist community. Faith in God is important to me.
Sherman: Surely you recognize the equal citizenship and patriotism of Americans who are atheists?
Bush: No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.
Sherman (somewhat taken aback): Do you support as a sound constitutional principle the separation of state and church?
Bush: Yes, I support the separation of church and state. I'm just not very high on atheists.
But high on cocaine and whiskey, that's another story; bush shares that with seraphim.

So the answer is never really isn't it
""When's the last time an Atheist told you who you can and can't marry?" - When Statutory Rape laws were made.""
I'm sorry, what does rape ave to do with marrage...oh wait of course a fundemantlist can have sex with his wife even if she says no can't she I see your point now, jackass.
""When's the last time an Atheist made it illegal for Christians to run for office or testify in court in several states?" - None yet, but trust me, there will come a time when this happens."
Exactly, none yet, so the rest of your aurgument is speculative at best.

New nomination for lie for Jesus award right there me thinks.

So patriotism to you has nothing to do with America. It's about a theocracy. To you supporting the troops is really all about telling the fight your batles for you, or you'd have more respect. And as for Christian holidays? Name me one that wasn't stolen from a Hebrew or Pagan calander.
I can't tell if seraphim is so desperate to demean atheists that he grasps at any answer that will do, regardless of its accuracy or morality, or if he really believes all the garbage he's just spewed. Do fundies really want to be able to marry minors? Why are they getting so upset about gay marriages then? Are they worried about the competition?
seraphim, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
"When's the last time an Atheist made it illegal for Christians to run for office or testify in court in several states?" - None yet, but trust me, there will come a time when this happens.
No, but several states say you MUST believe in a higher court to hold office, So you were saying?
I think our delusional angel is failing to dissect a bunch of questions put down by someone who's trying to point out what true persecution is.
In alot of countries around the world Christians are as wholly segregated as blacks were in the 30's, and they're not allowed to do alot of the things the original questioner put down in his post, like running for government positions, or shopping at certain stores.
Anyway Seraphim is delusional. Almost as delusional as the woman who thought someone put a grocery cart behind her car on purpose because they didn't like her rapture bumper sticker or some such thing.
I vote this for "Most persecuted christian of the month" award.

Hehhhee...
This fuck wants to marry children.
By the way, Planned Parenthood totally welcomes your patronage -- just not your protests. They don't welcome secular protests, either, though, so come down off that cross.

In all fairness that was GB senior not JR that said that
as for the post
WTF
Banned Christians from Planned Parenthood?
What are you talking about? Xians have teh same right as everyone else to go to Planned Parenthood and have abortions or other services. Maybe you should try it some time. Then we can have less fundies in the world.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
