On his most recent "Pray In Jesus Name" program, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt seized upon the story of a member of the Utah Air National Guard who was supposedly reprimanded for writing an email objecting to a gay wedding that had taken place at the chapel at West Point.
...
Klingenschmitt then went on a issue an imprecatory prayer based on the Book of Psalms in which he declared that "we oppose the enemies of the Constitution who hate religious liberty" while calling upon God to strike them on the jaw and break their teeth.

He should check that his dental insurance is current.
he declared that "we oppose the enemies of the Constitution who hate religious liberty"
This just totally destroyed my irony meter. I guess religious liberty and Constitutional rights only applies to conservative Christians.
"we oppose the enemies of the Constitution who hate religious liberty"
SCOTUS disagrees. SCOTUS is in the Constitution, Klingenschmitt isn't. SCOTUS wins.
I didn't find it in the story, but was this airman using government resources (computer/network/time) to push his political views? Also, mouthing off to an officer is not something that is generally viewed in a positive manner.
"But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also."
- Some obscure rabbi whose words have no meaning for Klingenschmitt or his groupies, as quoted in Matthew 5:39 (KJV)
I actually agree with him, just not how he's expect.
Of course, under the US constitution and it's religious liberty, religious rules cannot be put into law hence marriage equality.
Thus, he's praying against the person who onjected, not a very Christian thing to do!
O Mighty King of the Universe we humbly beg thee to sock homo supporters on the jaw.
O supreme Lord of Love, we do beseech thee, if thou art of a loving mind, to punch the faggots on the snoot with thy mighty ethereal fist of doom.
O Lord of Genocidal Mania, if thou canst but find the time in thy most righteous labours of nation crushing, we hope you can see your way to kicking atheists in the bollocks with thy numinous boot.
Finally, O Baron of the Cumuli, please find our ardent endeavours to kiss thy spectral arse and lick thy numinous boots with copious dribble and drool to be pleasing, and favour us with thy righteous spittle.
Amen

You'll have to find the words 'God', 'Jesus', 'Creator' and 'Marriage' in your precious US Constitution first, Cling-on shitt. Otherwise, kiss your religious tax-exemption goodbye, as your (non)religion - as you claim yours 'is a personal relationship with Jesus' - no longer has the right to any Constitutional protection. [/paradox]

Don't we all? Including the bit about how no religion will be promoted above any other, nor shall any religion be forced upon another person... or the bit about how ALL are equal.
"who hate religious liberty"
So, you oppose the one who complained about how ALL are treated equally and tried to force his religion onto others then?
Not Fundie at all... unless you are trying to DEFEND that Anti-Constitution member of the UANG...

You mean like the Christians who want to outlaw other religions?
calling upon God to strike them on the jaw and break their teeth.
I may be mistaken, but I believe if God had followed suit and had struck anybody on the jaw and broken their teeth in the recent past, it would have made at least as much media frenzy as the Royal Baby. Either I missed it or it didn't happen.
Poor Klingenschmitt: the nine months delayed result of a royal screw job beat out his imprecatory prayer to the Almighty. What a shame.
I think it's have been funnier if he'd quoted 1 Samuel 5 where God punishes the Ashdodites by giving them haemorroids...
Anyway, knowing the usual accuracy of God's aim when delivering his divine wrath if I was a Southern Baptist I'd be checking whether 'Act of God' was covered in my dental plan.

....the next morning, Doc Jingleheimerschmitt woke up with some serious dental troubles!
Confused?
