A lawyer in Novosibirsk has called for a ban on stories about a goat and a tiger in a national park in Russia's Far East, arguing that the widespread media coverage of the pair is 'covert gay propaganda' and poses a threat to Russian children.
The animals gained worldwide fame when Amur the tiger failed to pounce on a goat named Timur after it was released into his enclosure at the Primorye Safari Park as dinner.
Instead of eating his prey, Amur developed an unlikely friendship with the goat and the two were filmed walking around the park together, charming media audiences worldwide. YouTube videos of the pair received millions of hits.
But lawyer Alexei Krestianov has appealed to the General Prosecutor's Office to ban future coverage because it poses a threat to the rights of children, a copy of the letter published on his personal Facebook page on Wednesday, said.
The letter argued that the “positive” exposure given to the “non-traditional co-habitation” of two male animals was “an intrusion into the private lives of underage citizens and covert gay propaganda, as well as an active imposition of homosexuality.”
Krestianov added the stories could have a negative influence on the formation of children's personalities by “arousing interest in non-traditional sexual relationships” and causing confusion over their sexual identities.

at most, I see a metaphor for different groups live in harmony despite their differences. a symbol for peace and the promised utopia in the messiah days.
why everything is sex with you guys?
We musnt tell the story of Androcles and the Lion either.
Whereas Rin Tin Tin (boy and dog) and the Lone Ranger (man and horse) are positively obscene.
To say nothing of Tin Tin ( dog, young man and drunken middle-aged sailor) we must protect children from such filth
I can think of a million things wrong with the story of the tiger and the goat, but most of them have to do with why was a captive tiger given live prey? There is a reason sanctuaries give butchered meat and it has nothing to do with human sensibilities. Especially since captive big cats are sometimes declawed (USDA used to recommend it, now they are neutral.) Gay sex never once entered my mind. What's wrong wtih you.

Apparently now, a heartwarming story of two very different animals (one of whom was intended to kill and eat the other) becoming the best of friends (yes, they were FRIENDS, not romantic partners) that was going to be made into a children's book (that could teach children about putting aside differences and living in peace and harmony, a much-needed moral in such times) is being targeted for an absolutely baseless accusation.
Religious fundamentalism at it's most extreme, paranoid, and finest.
@musicalbookworm
They probably gave the tiger the goat to allow it to learn the hunting skills it would have gained in the wild.
Though knowing Asia, they could have simply given it a live goat to provide a spectacle for the audiences watching.
This has got to be a Poe on Krestianov's part, or else he is too stupid to be a lawyer, or indeed too stupid to find his own ass with both hands and a flashlight. Perhaps he has political aspirations.
Is this actually a big story?
Yes, this guy's a lawyer. Yes, he filed an official complaint or something. But he's just some guy publishing something on his personal Facebook account.
To be clear, this is not me criticizing us for discussing the story. We discuss stupid stuff written on the internet all the time; it's in our wheelhouse. How the hell did this get an article in The Moscow Times? I'm assuming that's a real and serious newspaper. "A guy has a crackpot conspiracy theory about gay people and posted a thing about it on his Facebook" doesn't seem like a real news story to me.
If you think that's bad, just wait until the Lamb lays down with the Lion. Oooo-boy.
BTW, a couple of days ago the goat was fucking with Amur all fucking day, poking him with his horns and whatnot. Amur got tired of his shit and chomped/knocked his ass around a little. After some veterinary care the goat is fine and they are separated.
No Homo. Everyone can relax now.

he “positive” exposure given to the “non-traditional co-habitation” of two male animals
Ah yes, and a few years back it was supposedly gay penguins at some zoo in Germany. Yeah, right.
It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
It's the lion lies down with the lamb, not the tiger walks around with the goat.
@ Arceus
Whoops apparently it wasn't a children's book based of the duo, it was ACTUAL media coverage of the duo
You may be thinking of the Bush/pet goat duo and it was also real. Too real.

Yeah, and what about that transvestite "Lassie" playing a girl dog!
I had a friend who had a mouse eating snake, that picked one of the meals for an apparent pet.
He ate all the mice put into his cage except Algernon, who lived to a ripe old age, and slept in the coils of the snake.
And I've had cats who would never harm mice, rats, gophers or birds. If they don't grow up in the wild,
with their mamas showing them the rules, they don't see the other animals as food. IMHO
Cats and dogs, living together, mas-hysteria! (Or tigers and goats, in this case, but the mas-hysteria is there...)
I'd say it's a definitive negative influence on the formation of children's personalities to pretend that certain natural things don't exist.
The animals seem to be no more than friends, from what it says here. Are they against men being friends with other men?
Right, because we have nothing better to do than spend years training incredibly dangerous carnivorous creatures to not eat specific animals and have them walk around together so that a small number of people with too much time on their hands will imagine this means they're having a gay interspecies tryst.
And of course this subliminal idea which is only ever proposed up by the twistedly imaginative gay-sex obsessed anti-gay movement is far more harmful to children than the bloody spectacle of a live goat being mauled, torn to bite sized chunks, and eaten.
@ Philbert McAdamia
The children's book misconception I had came from the controversy over the book "And Tango Makes Three".
It's a story about two male chinstrap penguins that lived together in Central Park zoo. It also was very controversial.
Though unlike this instance, it was an actual relationship,
