I love it when libs try to say Jesus was a liberal. This guy at worked tried to tell me that because Jesus was for giving money to the poor so he must have been a liberal. I explained yes Jesus was for giving money to the poor but YOUR OWN money not someone elses!! Then he tells me I don't know what I'm saying.

Ah, I think he's stating that tax payers money is the 'someone elses' and liberals are for giving this away or spending it frivolously so long as it's not THEIR OWN money.
Epic failure. Tax payer's money is as much my money as it is yours and the proverbial 'I', has as much say over how it's spent as 'you' do.

I saw this on Rapture Ready before, and honestly this flabbergasted me. What--like he's complaining about the government giving MY money to help the poor? No, he's bitching about HIS OWN money going to the poor, the thing he's SUPPOSED to be all for. Dumbass...
He was also in support of having no possessions at all, of leaving your family to find your own way in the world, of not stoning other people to death and not judging one another. Sure as hell ain't consistent with the Republican party "let me hoard", "family 'values'", "kill the evil ones" platform.
Then ipso facto, refrain from gay marriage in YOUR OWN life and stop micromanaging mine.

I love it when conservatives prove they haven't read the Bible by claiming Jesus isn't a liberal. Like their Pharisse predecessors they don't seem to understand the concept of the Christian religion being a new liberal LOVING GOD based religion, instead of the Conservative old vengeful, Jewish God based on ceremony and fear. They would be the one's chanting "Crucify him", protecting the moneychangers in the temple, and kowtowing to the Pharisees and the status quo to avoid the new broom of Jesus sweeping out the old CONSERVATIVE ways.
Yes, Jesus told you both to give YOUR MONEY to the poor, and to give any money that the government asked you to to the government, since the government was the source of that money (that is, the famous "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and unto God that which is God's). And you combine those to come up with... that the government shouldn't be able to take money from you and have it go to the poor.
