Jesus failed on his promise to return while there were still those living when he made his promise. They are all dead now. Or perhaps nobody noticed his return and it happened a long time ago, or else it's false. Take your choice. Either way, your Rapture is not something that can be relied on - except by brainwahsed/braindead fools.

I used to feel sorry for people who were brainwashed to the extent of wanting to die; I thought they'd been duped by cult leaders or something in a time of weakness. Indeed. It's like how the Bible warns people that they will be persecuted for believing it, so when you "persecute" someone for believing something batshit insane, it actually *reaffirms* their belief ("OMG JAYSUS SAID YOU'D SAY THAT!"). Of course, if you *didn't* "persecute" them, they'd think that everyone agreed with their death cult, which also would reaffirm their belief. It was a genius inclusion on the part of whoever wrote the thing.
(I used "persecute" in quotes because, more often than not, it's something more along the lines of "question" or "try to talk out of," which becomes "persecution" through the Special Fundie Persecution Glasses.)
