The Bible is a mere book. CS Lewis's "The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe" is a mere book. Are you suggesting that if I went into my wardrobe, I'd emerge out the other side into another world where I'd meet a talking lion? (in before 'GET IN THE CAR!' etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseam! >:3 ), just because a book says so? Because that's basically what you're suggesting what'll happen in the Bible, re. Revelations etc, according to you.
So, on the basis that something written in a book, no matter what it is (especially CS Lewis), is FACT (check one):
[ ] The Bible is FACT
[ ] The Bible is FICTION
Choose wisely. If you chose the former, then the burden of proof is on YOU, not us. If you can actually produce this 'God' you speak of, then doing so will destroy your religion. Beecause Proof denies 'Faith', and without 'Faith', there can be no 'Belief'. And if you can't prove the existence of 'God' to our satisfaction, then you're equally fucked. Catch-22 can be a real bitch like that.
If you chose the latter, your religion is equally fucked.
Go to a library. Look for the Bible. Now look for Darwin's "The Origin of Species". Notice which sections they're in. One is 'Non-Fiction'. The other is 'Philosophy/Religions'. Which book is in which? Now figure out WHY. You do the maths.
"My ultimate reference point is the Bible. What is yours?"
