You know, once upon a time, it was considered a sign of weak or lacking faith for Christians to believe in witchcraft. That kind of power was only supposed to come from the divine, so claiming it came from any other source was considered incorrect thinking.
Also, "secret society"? Really? Methinks you've been bitten by the conspiracy bug.

Those who believe themselves to be witches (in the sense that you are using the word) are as loopy as you are, in their own way. Woo must acknowledge other flavors of woo, and incorporate it into their particular narrative. To denounce other flavors of woo as non-existent would invite dupes followers to connect the dots.
