Given that God is also omnipotent, would not a rational, loving, and fair minded person be petitioning God even now, and encouraging everyone else to petition God, to control the hurricanes and prevent them doing damage (except to evil-doers)? If the rational, loving, and fair minded person does not do this, does he have a right to complain or should he just admit that he is not really rational, loving and fair minded?

Given that God is also omnipotent, would not a rational, loving, and fair minded god control the hurricanes and prevent them doing damage WITHOUT needing people to beg him to do it? If the rational, loving, and fair minded god does not do this, does he have a right to be worshipped or petitioned by those he should be helping?
okay, I'm on board.
"Dear God, please pretty please send those hurricanes to kill all the homosexuals and other heathens.
Protect us rational and loving fair minded individuals, and KILL THE REST OF EM!
Peace to all. Love ya Jesus!

Do you know what omniescient means? It means you don't have to ask.
Do you know what omnipotent means? It means he would've done it.
Guess what shithead - millions asked. Does this mean God is not omniescient? Does this mean God is not omnipotent, or does this mean figments of human imagination cannot control weather?
Given that God is also omniscient, why would a rational, loving, and fair minded person ever bother petitioning God about anything?
He already knows what you want and how much you want it.
Jesus said love your enemy.
You should pray for God to help everyone, even evil people.
But...
I thought god was all knowing and had a plan. Praying to god implies that you think you know better than god what to do. Thus, prayer is the ultimate blasphemy. And since the bible says you should pray, the bible is itself a blasphemy before god.
Kmisho: well, QED, then, obviously. I dare you to go there and post that response. Do you think we could hear their brains leaking out over the internet? :D

You have yet to establish that God exists, much less that he is omnipotent. Even if you had done so, though, the answer would be no for four reasons:
1) God is not going to be persuaded by any number of humans. His will is what it is, and (given that he's omnipotent) it's going to happen.
2) God is also supposedly omniscient, which means he knows damn well what you want whether you ask it of him or not.
3) God is also supposedly omni-benevolent, so he shouldn't need any persuading to spare people who deserve to be spared.
4) If a rational (to the extent that one can be so and ignore the preceding reasons), loving, and fair-minded person were to pray that people were spared, it wouldn't be that only the good people got spared - rational, loving, and fair-minded people tend to believe that people deserve a second chance (up to a certain point).
Given that I am also God, would not a rational, loving, and fair minded person be worshipping me and showering me with their monies right now?
I enjoy this game of assuming something absurd as a given!
Rational, loving, and fair minded people should be petitioning god to harm other people? And if he/she does NOT do this, then they are to hang their heads in shame and shut up?
What part of that sounds rational to you, rhutchin?
"Rational" = "asking an invisible friend to fix the weather"?
I'm fairly sure that there were Christians praying during every natural disaster. Some of them were saved, some of them died ...why, it's exactly as if there was nobody listening.
Confused?
