[So ironic it hurts]
Folklore and superstition ought not to be held with the same respect as the Bible.

Hadanelith, that's the best "1812 Overture" I've ever heard; those irony meter explosions sound even better than cannons.
King Spirula, I agree completely.
Yahweh, please keep this one in mind as a candidate for the "Death By Irony Overdose" Award. I shudder to think what could possibly outdo it.

Several years ago, when I was suffering from a severe irony deficiency, my doctor prescribed a bunch of huge and disgusting pills for it. If only I knew of this site then! It would have cured me with one quote!
see, nobody got it...V for Vendetta, people! No cookies for you! Beautiful movie, and an extremely important message. Not very applicable to this quote, but I thought that the reference to the end was perfect.
He has a point insofar as Hansel and Gretel hasn't started any wars I know of, even the great gingerbread insurrection in the Summer of 1514.
Now your biblical folklore, superstition and primitive mythology: That's another kettle of exploding fish entirely! Handle with care kiddies.
My neighbor just called to complain that his irony meter exploded. I'm not surprised, really - mine overloaded even before the emergency shutdown could kick in. I hope it's just a blown fuse; this irony meter's been through a lot here. (Advice for those of you whose meters just exploded - get one of the industrial-grade ones with an emergency shutdown trigger. Anything less won't stand up to the massive loads this site can generate.)
I've found that if you reverse the polarity, and fold it in with the feedback from your 700 club super reality shield, you can still arc the differential to obtain an accurate irony reading without it becoming molten if you calibrate it successfully with a surge protector and an amp... It still does blow windows out though.
Indeed it was, Pan. Indeed it was.
Crosis: They were industrial grade. I'd even linked them up to my bullshit-o-meters so that they would shut down if the bullshit got to much (since this all too often causes great irony). I believe it is time to invest in some meters from NASA. I hear they make good equipment (I just need to make sure that it is properly calibrated to metric).
Julian: I love Star Trek, really I do, but this is neither the time nor the place for Treknobabble.
Do any of you know of the show American Dragon: Jake Long? Tons of folklore, including brownies, mermaids, oracles, giants, leprachauns, sirens, gryphons, sprites, goblins, unicorns, and dragons. And it's hell better then some of those Kent Hovind shows.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
