IMHO, indoctrinating your kids into your religion is a form of brainwashing, and that goes double for fundie whackaloons.
Guys, I have a dilemma. I recently thought of the term "excretionist" over dinner. There are five things that it could be:
1. Pejorative term for a fundie.
2. Pejorative term for a Poe.
3. Pejorative for any creationist.
4. Pejorative for fundies who think that God has turds.
5. Pejorative for fundies who think that God has turds that are really, really holy.

It speaks as though the religious were in ANY position whatsoever to talk about brainwashing or child abuse. I'm still surprised the religious have the audacity to claim ANY moral authority whatsoever, considering their hand in child rape, child porn trade, and cover-ups of those things. They are sick.

Honestly that sounds more like an admonition against theocracy than one against homosexuality. After all, fundies are the ones that want to convert the whole world and rule all nations for Christ. Homosexuals just want equality.
However, this quote is really about neither but rather it's about conquerors. Israel was under Roman rule at the time so you can see why they'd be against people that want to "gain the whole world".
I know a lot of people are making shiny mirror comments, and that's fine. But I don't "get" the brainwashing part of the quote. I have gay friends who raised straight kids the same way I have straight friends who raised gay kids. Where's the brainwashing unless it's teaching respect for your fellow human beings?
"Practicing homosexuals"? How long does it take until you're proficient homosexuals?
That Bible verse doesn't say anything about raising children, or homosexuality, or child abuse, or brainwashing.
Most homosexuals are raised by heterosexuals, so most homosexuals will raise heterosexuals in their turn.
Teaching kids about tolerance, respect, human rights and acceptance is hardly child abuse or brainwashing.
All parents "brainwash" their children in the sense of instilling their knowledge and values. If by brainwashing you mean affecting their sexual orientation, that's nonsense. As others have said, children raised by homosexuals are no more likely to end up gay than children raised by straight couples.

I genuinely don't believe sexual orientation is that clear cut, i believe it is very complex, more than a simple spectrum. I do believe your sexuality is innate, wherever it may lie on the Kinsey spectrum. Just be you. You know? Its okay.
