* Zina of the Eyes
???
* Are not beneficial to us, hence a Waste of time (wasting time is not permissible to any Muslim) ?
And yet, it's us materialists who are soulless automata who cannot appreciate qualia.
Anime
* is hand-drawn or computer animation.
* is usually from Japan
* is fictional
* is entertaining and therefore beneficial
Do we really need to bother ourselves with whether some god or other likes it? If he/she/it/they didn't, it wouldn't exist, would it? Why not just have fun and enjoy this short time we have on this planet, befriend each other instead of finding fault with each other?
Are you haraam, dearie?
@creativerealms:
So, er, it's lustful gazes or... something? Why must muslims fundies always be so full with those stilted set phrases and unnecessary loanwords? Really, that sounds like Chateau Heartiste except for the jibberish jargon being drawn from a gratitious foreign language rather than idiosyncratic pretentious vulgarities.
Zina is apparently sexual intercourse between unmarried Muslims and it seems to cover adultery as well.
The stupid thing about "zina of the eyes" is that, from what I read, charges of zina in a Shari'a court require evidence of a physical act: Pregnancy, or being caught red-handed by four witnesses. It sounds as if this religious crime is particularly physical in nature.
I suspect the reliance on jargon/loanwords is probably related to the convention that every Muslim (regardless of background or location) is encouraged to read the Qur'an in Arabic. Translations into other languages are usually accompanied by the traditional Arabic script.
Anime covers a very wide range as it's actually a very general category. Even if wider society were to view these things as badly as the fundamentalist interpretation of Islam on display here does, saying that some anime does these things, and therefore all anime should be forbidden is more or less like saying that because internet child porn exists, using the internet should be forbidden.
"Princess Principal"...
* Promotes Teamwork
* Depicts Men & Women in Victorian garb
* Dunno if there are any Zines related to this yet to read with the eyes, as it's still airing on Japanese TV & streamed by Sentai Filmworks
* Is beneficial as it's a cracking Steampunk/Spy yarn
* Promotes Steampunk via Cavorite
...need I ask more?!
PROTIP: The anime/manga "Dragonball Z" is extremely popular in Saudi Arabia.
Argument Annihilation levels are OVER 9000!
Confused?
