Regarding on how to punish women for having abortions
I have hanging more in mind.
...
Yes, I believe that the law should treat abortion like any other homicide.
...
I'm torn on capital punishment generally; but treating abortion as homicide means what it means.

Some random person: "But...I thought you folks say that right to life begins at conception!"
Kevin D. Williamson: "It does! It just doesn't extend beyond birth! Especially if the mother is some slut who got pregnant 'cause she didn't hold on to that aspirin with her knees!!"
These people must want the USA to become poor as fuck or something. These people do not realize we need to have the population steadily slow down or else we will have a resource problem on our hands.
What amazes me is how some people hate abortion AND contraceptives. Most teenage pregnancy actually happens in the Bible Belt, yet few of them get abortions for the obvious reasons like community and family pressure.
Now the mom will be poor because she could barely go to college (lets assume she got pregnant in the Senior year of highschool) and now she will live in poverty instead of working in a career that can actually help the USA, all of this would have been fixed if she could have removed a clump of cells gestating in her womb during the first two trimesters, and made sure he actually used a condom.
As is hanging someone for practicing a constitutional right.
If you think women are going to sit around while this happens, dream on.
How about we go one further... kill any woman even thinking about having an abortion. True, the fetus will still die, but at least it wouldn't have been aborted.
The ironic part here is, aside from supposedly being "pro-life," is that he's not sure about capital punishment for those who committed murder against sentient human beings, but some woman has an abortion? Kill her.
That's like executing someone for getting an appendectomy. How about folks who kill their foot-corns with "Dr. Scholl's"?
Really! It's not a baby! It's a tiny glob of cells! An egg is not a chicken! An acorn is not an oak tree!
Homicide is what we call in the trade a legal fiction, that is its a made-up term that encompasses certain specific and closely defined fact situations and not others. Abortion, within a specific term, is not one of those fact situations, and is therefore not like 'any other homicide', because its not homicide in the first place.
@LyingForJebus
It's actually perfectly logical that they be both against abortion and contraceptives when you realize that their actual agenda has nothing to do with life or saving proto-babies from being scraped off the uterine wall.
What they're really about is maintaining male control over women and womens' sexuality. All of this is about punishing women for having sex for pleasure, when she should only be having it for procreation with her husband(a word, let's remember, which also means one who tends and owns an animal.)
Basically they want to make sure women do not have extramarital sex, do not enjoy sex, do not seek it out, and are kept sexually submissive and willing to the man who owns her.
On another topic, I think it should be avoided to use the word 'human' when talking about embryos, fetuses, zygotes, whatever. Because a single cell of any sort from a human body is technically 'human'. Your pinkie toe is technically 'human'. So it's probably better to say an embryo is not a person, not a baby, rather than 'not human'.
@Quasirodent
I very much disagree. There are no doubt some people who aim for that, and many others who harbour such views to some degree, but really there is little reason to doubt that the majority of these people are not genuinely concerned about what they see as the taking of an innocent life. Anti- abortion and anti- infantacide has been a reported feature of christianity from the 1st century onwards, its one of the things that pissed people off about them.
Besides, its not just fundies who think the baby has a right to life, I'm an athiest and I do too.
Making straw men to knock down is a fundie tactic.
"Choose life, or i'll F@$%ing kill you!"? Uh huh, that makes sense. e_e
@Scratch
No kidding. It took several hours of viewing cute cat vids just to get out of the funk from my last trip there.
Soooo... for abortion, which you interpret as murder and wrong, you'd subject the mother to capital punishment, in effect murder ?
My head hurts from your hypocrisy.
@Warren McIntosh
You misunderstand, but perhaps I didn't state it clearly.
Individual people will certainly have their own opinions and reasons, and among them are people who believe in the sanctity of life, who think that clumps of cells without a brain are people, and that any abortion is murder. I know this.
But when I say 'agenda', I mean at an underlying level - that those people who work hard to spread lies and propaganda and keep the outrage and ignorance going - they have an ulterior motive, and it's all about power. This is their method for controlling female reproductive power, but there are sets of rules and dogma in place for controlling other groups of people and their abilities.
And while I think a baby certainly has a right to life, I don't think the early-stage embryo is a baby, and I also don't think the life of a late-stage fetus is more or even equally important to that of the mother if it is endangering her~.
Y’all are against samesex marriage because every child deserves a mother and father.
Y’all don’t like welfare money going to children of sluts because she should have thought of that.
But if a woman has all the kids she can afford, and gets an abortion for the one that’ll put them all on welfare, you’d have her hang from the rope.
Holy fuck…
Confused?
