How is the preaching homosexuality is a good thing not terrorism? How is preaching global warming is killing us all next week not terrorism?

First, it has nothing to do with terrorism. Instead of giving reasons why it's not terrorism I'd like you to give reasons why it is, because I don't see any.
And the global warming thing... Holy tired strawman Batman. Nobody is saying that global warming is killing us next week. Most of us are saying that it is a problem that we should care about. Only the global warming deniers use extreme language like that, to ridicule the concept.
"How is the preaching homosexuality is a good thing not terrorism?"
Nobodys dying. They're not telling your how to live or they'll kill you
"How is preaching global warming is killing us all next week not terrorism?"
See above
Those are good questions, but I have better ones:
How is telling a child he'll burn forever if he doesn't do as he's told by a god who "loves" him not terrorism?
How is attempting to take control of government to turn our free nation into the site of the next dark ages not terrorism?
How does encouraging the persecution of atheists and homosexuals because a supposedly loving dictator did such things as written in an ancient book not terrorism?
I could go on but I shouldn't have to.
LGBT rights activists and environmentalists are not trying to instill terror into a group of people to influence their behavior. Since that is the only qualifying criterion for terrorism, they cannot be terrorists.
Nobody is saying homosexuality is "good". That's because it's not. It's neutral, neither good nor bad. it's, y'know, "just there". However, since gay people did not choose their sexual orientation and aren't hurting anyone with it, it is ethically dubious at best to deny them equal rights or attempt to change them to conform with heterosexist norms.
And nobody is saying global warming is going to kill us all next week, either. They're only pointing out that the effects of global warming are costly, harmful, and potentially dangerous, but they are largely avoidable, so reasonable action should be taken to prevent them.
Because no one is being attacked, kidnapped, killed, raped, nor is anything being bombed to draw attention to those issues.
odd, they go against one of the basics of philosophical questioning.
they ask why not, and then we ask. Why?
...then they pretend they won the argument
Yeah, because promoting the idea of tolerance and NOT treating homosexuals as pariahs is the equivalent to killing a bunch of innocent people for the express purpose of pushing an ideological/political agenda.
And when it comes to the global warming thing, God forbid anybody take notice that our atmosphere isn't to be treated like a frat house toilet.
Nobody is preaching homosexuality, just as no-one is preaching left-handedness or blueeyeism.
Informing people that we have to stop destroying the world or it will die, that is not terrorism. But continuing to destroy the world even though we know what is happening, THAT might be terrorism.
Preaching is not terrorism at all. Threatening violence or subjecting bystanders to violence, that is terrorism.
Basically, because terrorism is deliberately, out of your will, attacking in a massive scale trying to cause as much damage as you can to coerce people to respond to your demands. Preaching doesn't fit that section.
Who is preaching? We don't preach, cumstain. If there is evidence it is put on display for all to see and evaluate. If that evidence stands up to scrutiny then maybe it develops into a theory.
I think you have gotten me one step closer to establishing the Theory of Douchebags.
@[b]LDM (#965850):Refresh my memory, when was the last time someone blew up a building for gay rights?
Well, I haven't blown any buildings, but I've blown quite a few guys, and not really for gay rights but just because... Hmm. Guess that doesn't really count..?
From dictionary.com
ter·ror·ism
/'t?r??r?z?m/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [ter-uh-riz-uhm] Show IPA
noun
1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.
2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
Therefore, blowing up the Twin Towers because you want the U.S. out of the Middle East=terrorism. Blowing up a car bomb because you want the British out of North Ireland=terrorism. Killing an abortion provider because you believe abortion is wrong=terrorism.
A group of people peaceably assembling to petition the Government for a redress of grievances =/= terrorism. It's an exercise of First Amendment rights.
Confused?
