It's almost like they thought that misusing words could have negative effects on future readers' understanding of the text. But surely nobody would come to mistakenly think the term for a resident of Sodom would mean something completely unrelated like, say, "one who practices anal sex", right?
king james was derided as "queen" james in his own day, partly because he was homo as the day was long. but why should we think that had any impact on a translation project he merely championed and funded? it's not like he personally worked on the text, after all.

King James sponsored that particular translation of the Bible. He did not translate it himself. He may have attempted to make some changes; how successful he was depends on your source. I say let the Christians argue about that point.

A "qadesh" is a male shrine prostitute. "Sodomite" was probably a correct translation in 1611, but the word has changed meaning since then. It is now a pejorative for any male homosexual, not just male prostitutes in pagan temples. So "sodomite" is no longer an accurate translation of "qadesh".

One of the KJV translators, Richard Thompson, was a well-established drunk. Is it any wonder why the words "Welch's Grape Juice" have been stricken from the KJV and replaced with the evil word "wine"?
Dave is correct in that King James was not a sodomite. In fact, he condemned sodomy as worthy of death in his writing. It is Catholics that hate Christianity and the Christian Bible that spread such vicious rumors, long after King James has passed.
But Dave Stewart is as hellbound as any sodomite out there. If he keeps on going with his heretical doctrines and lack of true Faith, he'll end up in hell with the sodomites, Catholics, Moohamadans, aborted children, and all other pagans/satanists.

You are a troll, but this point is worth addressing.
Yes he condemned 'sodomy' as worthy of death in his writings.
But is that at all surprising? The man was a hypocrite - a pseudo-moralist who took a personal interest in torturing people. Which makes him literally 'worthy of death' - regardless of where he liked to put his pecker. Then there was his belief that "Kings are rightly considered gods" indirectly plunging the British Isles into a bloody civil war in which hundreds of thousands died...
There's no need for any Christian to feel offended by what I've just written. King James didn't write the Bible and the fact that he sponsored a translation of it - no doubt for self-serving reasons - doesn't invalidate Christianity or the KJV as a work of literature.
And Jerry is back and once again shows no change in behaviour. He is still failing at everything, judging everyone he sees on here then not realising he is just as harshly judged for his lack of knowledge on everything he's ever discussed, his hypocritical way of agreeing with so called satanists (again this is what he calls them.
