The most successful religion in converting people these days is the simplistic, primal, xenophobic religion of Islam. Their essential creed, boiled down is "we are good, they are bad, death to everyone else". That's simple and sells well to people that are insecure and uneducated. Thus, Islam is doing rather well in the prosetylization game.

"The least successful religion in converting people these days is the simplistic, primal, xenophobic religion of Christianity. Their essential creed, boiled down is "we are good, they are bad, eternal damnation for everyone else". That's simple and sells well to people that are insecure and uneducated. However, Christianity is doing rather poorly in the prosetylization game, especially with men like Ted Haggard and Paul Grace showing the hypocrisy of the religion.

Major repairs completed.
Exactly like you are!!, actually they are converting university people, do you think it matches your profile, OR ARE YOU PROJECTING WHAT YOU DO IN OTHER PEOPLE?
Meanwhile, Atheist believers remains the tiny minority group it has always been, because it is so unattractive and because it is so out of touch with reality.
Right. That's only why the world's two wealthiest men are both atheists.
"Their essential creed, boiled down is "we are good, they are bad, death to everyone else".
Except we get a lot of this from christians on this very web site.
Hey trollykins - atheism is growing at a far faster rate than Christianity. Furthermore, it's all the smart young vibrant people capable of judging for themselves and reaching an intelligent informed decision.
You guys only get the born again coke head fuckwits like your president who desperately need a fictitionus crutch to lean on.
It's working out very well for us all things considered.
Show me one line from the Qur'an, that, when taken in its proper context, advocates 'death to everyone else.'
As a young Muslim child, I was taught that Islam was based on belief, prayer, fasting, charity, and pilgrimage. As an atheist adult, I see it as a more progressive religion than Christianity, but still with quite a ways to go. I think there's also a lot more ritual in Islam than there is in Christianity.

Jealous, much? Or maybe you'd prefer them to become Atheists? After all, when was the last time you heard of someone at a public place, wearing a Semtex jacket & holding a detonator button - or flying a plane into a building - shouting 'Nothing Akhbar!'?
And when did you ever hear of someone blowing up a megachurch full of worshippers, or shooting a 'Pro-Choice' protester outside an abortion clinic? Do the words Timothy McVeigh & Scott Roeder ring any bells?
And when did you ever hear of a left-wing non-believer committing depraved acts - unlike the following:

Ergo, you forfeit the right to criticise we Atheists in perpetuity. Q.E.D., bitches.

JBG, how is it that you know more about Islam than Muslims themselves do?
Because they would say that their "essential creed" is The Shahadah:
â ilâha illallâh, Muhammadur rasûlullâh
which translates from Arabic to English as:
"There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger."
Nothing in there about good, bad, death, us or them.
As someones already mentioned it's the higher birth rate that's giving Islam the edge now (paty of the reason for going over and killing a lot of them to some Americans I believe).
Another problem is counting children in the sum of any religion, counted at birth.
As to converting to Islam, statistic show an overwhelming fact that those converting were Christians before. Why is that?
"we are good, they are bad, death to everyone else".
That sounds like the argument for every religion that has ever existed.
I thought lack of religion was the most successful in "converting" people nowadays.
Confused?
