Secondly, check your definition of "shrink".

In the parts of the world closest to the sun, it already has. It's only in those parts farther away that it hasn't.

And seriously, you're talking about Earth. What do planets such as Mars or planetoids like Pluto have to do with what you're saying?

Maths and physics multifail!

First up, there's that good old fundie-science favourite, unjustified linear extrapolation. As the radius of the sun increases, the change in radius necessary to cause a constant change in volume decreases, so you can't do that.

You're also assuming that the amount of heat given out by the sun would be greater if it was larger; I'm gonna need to see some figures on that one from a qualified nuclear/astro physicist. If the sun emits the same amount of thermal radiative power, simple radiation theory from a spherical/point source tells us that it doesn't matter how big it is as long as it's not actually touching us. That's assuming you didn't make up that 2'/day figure, which I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit on until you can provide solid figures and equations accurately describing the time-evolution of the nuclear reactions going on within the sun and the gravitational plasma physics necessary to predict the change in size as a result of changing composition and energy.

Besides, 2 feet a day for 5000 years would only be 1.1e6 m! That's less than the distance from the earth to the moon! That's less than one ten millionth of the terra-sol distance altogether! Venus is far closer to the sun than that, and it's still cool enough for us to land functional probes on and send pictures back, if not actually survive there ourselves!

Bollocks. Even if true then the sun would be shrinking 1 foot per day from this side and 1 foot from the other side so it would only be getting further away at a rate of 1 foot per day in real terms.

2 foot per day for 5000 years = 3,650,000 feet. The sun is about 93,000,000 miles away, that means it was only a fraction closer 5000 years ago, if by some bizarre chance you are correct. Aren't you supposed to believe that the earth is 6,000 years old anyway?

Stuff doesn't melt if it stays cold. You've just argued that the planets are getting colder because the sun is getting smaller. Make your sodding mind up.
