[Regarding the anti-rape condom, rapex]
I'm against any form of self-defense that does unessecary permenant damage to anyone when there are better solutions (chemical agents, etc.).
[Right, it's unnecessary, I mean it would only stop a rape, possibly save a woman from disease (chemical agents don't protect against STDs), PTSD, death, might help secure a conviction - definitely unnecessary.]
nice perversion of the word "it". USE A REAL NOUN.

So if someone is being brutally attacked by someone who is about to kill them and they have a chance to grab their gun and shoot them in order to save their life you are against that because it means you are doing damage to someone in self defense? There may be better ways, such as trying to kick them and run away, but in the heat of the moment your life and your safety comes before the safety of your attacker. No matter what means may be necessary, you have an conscious and subconscious obligation to yourself to avoid harm.
I'm not so sure this is a great idea in and of itself as someone raping someone else at gunpoint or knife point may be so enraged that they are able to shoot/stab the person despite the pain. However, I do not pity the man in such a situation and it is up to every women to decide how best they want to defend themselves. It may very well give them a chance and frankly risking a stab or gun wound may be a better alternative in some's eyes to rape.
Btw: I had a look at the website in the FAQ section and in answer to "Will it cause permanent damage to the rapist?" it responds with "No, not if he gets professional help without delay." So next time you want to rant about something you know very little about take a few minutes to do some research.
"It" is better than an ordinary, everyday, amateur noun. It is a noun that has attained "pro" status. (OK, I'll shut up now.)
Never pervert the holy sacred word that hurts our ears so we can never repeat it!

This guy is a huge asshat, but I'm still boggling over the product being discussed here. I mean, decent idea in theory, but way to make the entire act of rape all about the victim. The attitude shouldn't be, "Well, dudes are gonna rape you no matter what, so it's your responsibility to protect yourself." It should be, "You should protect yourself just in case, but maybe we should start focusing on how to prevent rape before it occurs, not after it's in progress."
Bleargh.
Wow, that was the most non-sequiter sidestep I've ever, ever seen.
Also, Ethan: you're a douchebag. A giant bag. And the douches have razorblades hidden in inconvenient spots, and the whole shebang smells remotely of feces.
Typical fundie response ... if you can't think of an answer, try to change it into a discussion about the grammar of question.
PS, I think the inventor downplays the risk that the rapist will kill the victim.
I think there is another problem with this product. It will not be effective at all. Just think about it: once rapists become aware of the existance of rapex, they will use objects (dildo's or other substitutes) just to withdraw the rapex. Conclusion, it's worthless.
Frankly, I don't think it's of any worth. Surely, the act itself is still happening and will still scar the woman mentally? Wouldn't mace or pepper spray or kick to the crotch with a spiked shoe be more effective?
You are against any for of self-defence that causes "unessecary (sic)", or "permenant (sic)" damage to someone who brutally attacks and rapes somebody. Okay, as Stan would say, "That's pretty fucked up right there."
I love how you stick to the point, Ethan.
As for the rapex,I think its a product with great potential, and I can't say that anyone trying to rape who is struck by it has been unnecessarily damaged. However, because of its potential of misuse, I think it needs a license, like other weapons of self defense.
Confused?
