My challenge is as follows, and I quote:

IS Genesis 1 reduced to symbols so that a literal teaching of creation can be replaced with a literal teaching of evolution?

As in the mod dern teaching of evolution.

If I take a course on mod dern theistic evolucifershun, would I have to reduce things in Genesis 1 to symbols, allegory, or what et cetera ever, in favor of mod dern evilution?

Some of what science offers is outright ignorance. Look at Psychology for example and how stupid that is. Why settle for that puke, when we can have the mind of God, we can have the same divine mind, attitude, thoughts and nature that Jesus had when He walked this earth as very man.

[I think people who actually believe that the Ouija board was the entrance to the demonic could convince themselves to run around foaming at the mouth and committing mayhem.

In the meantime, the rest of us have jobs we need to do and lives we need to live and we see the Ouija board for what it really is -- a silly childhood game.]

Obviously you've never had any experiences with demonic spirits. If you have, then you would not be making such ignorant statements.

You probably don't believe the devil exists either and that there is no hell

How God tortures will be up to him. There will be millions in hell that never heard the gospel, like the Indians, ect...so maybe they won't be tortured as bad. Then take teens, whenever they pass age of accountability, say 13, probably a few million have died over time before they reached 18, who knows had they lived longer they may have accepted, so maybe they will get a break. Millions are born in cultures and by birth taught something else and will believe it, so they shouldn't get the worse levels.

Course, think about the Jews duing WW2 and how surprised they will be. Over 6 million, 95% loved God more than most, but like most still waiting for the Messiah and didn't accept Christ. I'm sure they were sincere, being tortured by the Nazi's. To them their only hope was God. Can you imagine how they will feel, to go through all that torture on earth and then face the God they prayed too and he'll place them in eternal hell where Hitler's torture won't compare....probably just part of the generational curse on the Jews, but I would think they would be tortured less, because they loved God, but why should they get less, they denied Christ. In reality the majority of Jews will face eternal torture.

Really, with probably 80% of people going to hell, they all go for not accepting the gospel. I would assume God chooses who goes there. Face it, if you or I was born in Iran, we would be Muslim, so we're lucky to be born in the USA.

I don't see any levels in hell, but some believe it. Just be glad you're not going, to face torment on a level man has never done to man, where a trillion years is not even a second. We all will have many family members there which is sad, but God will erase them from our minds so there will be no tears in heaven, only pure joy.

This came up in the thread about solar theory, but I figured I'd bring it up here because I don't know how many people are reading it five pages in. Does anyone else here reject the idea that the Earth orbits the sun? The Bible is pretty clear that the Earth is fixed and immobile, and it's the sun that moves, and I'm surprised how many Christians are willing to reject the Bible for science.

No, you are not Homo sapiens sapiens. Since you can't prove that you are, it remains a neo-Darwinist religious and racial assumption on your part. When you get some observable evidence of your being Homo sapiens sapiens which we all can see, please notify us.

In the meantime, you're just another ordinary human being, as far as I can tell.
Nothing special about you neo-Darwinists at all.

really?
this is what david did. u know he was mastubating when he was staring at bathsheba. pornography is addicting. sadly to say, sumpeople dont get free from it. i have thank god, but i dont think u should even start. mastubating and stuff raises the level of oxytocin, a pleasure hormone. if u keep masturbating and stuff, that oxytocin level raises constantly, and when u get married, that level is soo high, that sometimes your partner cannot satisfy you. that when divorce and cheating, and all sorts of stuff happens. my advice is not to start in the first place

The part of the Bible we are talking about here was written about 3500 years ago, by a man named Moses. He was a Hebrew, but was raised as the grandson of the Pharaoh in Egypt. The result was, he received the best education of his day, and also had access to the library at Alexandria, that had a copy of every know book to be in existence at the time.

[discussing whether it is possible for babies to sin]

Take a shiny object and wave it in front of a baby and as sure as the sun comes up, he'll reach for it.

Now, take it away from him and watch what happens. He'll pitch a fit because he wants that object.

That's coveting, which is a sin.

Why Is Masterbation Wrong?

The Bible Does Not Speak About This But It Does Say If You Lust With A Woman In Your Heart Then You Have Committed Adultery.
Masterbation Involves Sexual Fantasy And So It Is A Sin.
Masterbation Will Lead You Into Bondage And You Will Objectify Women And Eventually Read Porn And Then You Will Go Deeper.
I Myself Masterbated Since Age 12 And Kept Going As A Christian At Age 19. I Am Now 45 Years Old. The Longest I Have Abstained Was 97 Days Which Was In The Summer Of 2004. This Website Will Help Me Be An Overcomer And Am Anxious To See Those Strugggling Be Set Free.

[No offence, but you should learn to be more tolerant of others beliefs, especially when science has got us a lot further than any myth has.]

I'm tolerant enough, I'm not trying to kill you, just refuse to accept them. Who made science? Evolution isn't science. It's just a theory that tries to explain origins, and I don't think the belief that we came from monkeys has caused any technological and medicinal advancements. Creationism, is only one part of a message that redeemed my soul, it has done much for me and others, this forum is a testament to that. Spread your poison elsewhere.

scientifically, evolution can't be true, because it requires more matter to be constatly produced (we have more matter than a one cell creature) evolution is supposed to be a explanation of us without the use of the supernatural. Obviously, mass had to be created at some point by something, but it has been made that more can't be created

Liberals insisted that abortions were a "right" (certainly not for the baby involved) then demanded the public (Feds) pay for it.
Liberals insist that embroyonic stem cell research must be made legal, except it already is commonly legal. What they want/demand is the public (Feds) pay for it.
In both cases i think they desire that the blood of the innocent be upon the nation to incur the wrath of God

Muslims Favorite debating "tool" is confusion

I have debated with Muslims and all they do is hurl insults against Peter, call Jesus a liar, mock the Bible, copy and paste, copy and paste, copy and paste, quote so called Muslim scholars, demean preachers, laugh at the apostles and prophets of the Bible, but never has even one ever...ever... brought a valid argument to oppose Christianity.
It is the same old stuff.

They have nothing to present.

I don't know why they bother.

I cannot expect them to understand what they cannot see.

They were raised to believe that Muhammed is a prophet.

Their knowledge of the Bible is nil.

They claim to know, but what they do not see is that they know absolutely nothing about God and his Word.

Their only thing is to attack.

Furthermore, if evolution were true, then you would think that different groups of animals could naturally breed. A horse and a giraffe cannot breed offspring. A cat and a dog cannot breed offspring. Only through modern genetic DNA tampering can scientists play God and create monsters.

any woman is capable of being pregnant. Even if she is sterile there is still possibility. In marriage whenever there is sex there is ALWAYS possibility to life. If that possibility is taken away, then it can't be a valid marriage because of procreation.

[Why does God allow evil things such as the deaths of innocent people to happen?]

Where does it say that death is evil, especially in light of the fact that it opens the door to the experience of Paradise?

Here's another reason. Some of those people may have been sinners; kids may have grown and become the same without ever coming to repentance. God out of mercy allowed their death as a remedy and excuse to save them from the future condemnation.

You need to think positively. That God is good is true therefore there must be a good reason for everything, even if in our short sightness can't see it.

I have thus far been unable to find anything in God's Written Word that justifies abortion. Women have died in childbirth since the begining of time and I suppose they always will. That is a sad fact of life. Nevertheless, I have not found it listed as justification for abortion.

I believe that if people are presented an honest unbiased presentation of the Atheistic Lifestyle and the Christian Lifestyle, they would choose the Christian Lifestyle and the Atheistic Lifestyle would fade back into the closet. The Christian Lifestyle is the most environmentally friendly/socially responsible/healthy lifestyle for all people. The Atheistic Lifestyle is an evil unhealthy lifestyle of disease, death and destruction.

Please don't use homophobe. It demonstrates ignorance and hatemongering, and the last thing we need is more of that. I can understand why some people would be against both [interracial and gay marriage]. Both are against what the Bible preaches. As for me, I have no opinion on the actual interracial marriage. I remain neutral. miscegenation is not a clear abomination as homosexuality is. Nor is it an evolutionary dead-end like homosexuality. It just might be a bit selfish because no consideration is given to the child(ren), however.

but have you ever wondered how woodpeckers dont get like brain injury from pecking so dang hard? Well I was reading and they have like a hole or something in their skull that they stick their tounge in and wrap around their brain or something to protect it. wierd but very cool huh? I dont think that happened by chance or evolution or whatever else.

There is often debate about what makes someone a "True Christian"... but most of the time the subject is brought up athiests will retort with the tired "No True Scotsman" line (even though it's not actually a fallacy)... suggesting that people just make it up as they go along. So I will clear the matter up right now as to what makes one a true Christian, backed by Scripture. Here is the end-all definitive definition of a true Christian:

True Christian: One whose name is written in the Book of Life.

[On Satanism and Paganism-related websites]

What will you do, if you accidentally came across such websites?

As for now, I would back out as quickly as possible and delete my files and cookies to keep the computer from becoming possessed by a demon (I heard that can happen and I certainly don't want it to). Maybe I would even sit my Bible on top of it for a while.

Ok lets assume the tornado is in the junkyard for a couple of million years..Still doesnt add up. Complexity will never come from chance or nothing. It would be like taking a watch to an indian who has never seen technology like that and then telling him it just happened and no one made it. My point is evolution does NOT explain away God. It tries to but its failing currently..

It's not a conscious movement. First they play the game, feel interested about magic and all thos symbols, search the internet for related stuff, find occultic sites by people who say magic is good, tolerant and open-minded, try some little things for themselves, are not really sure if they worked or not but keep on doing it until they are complete believers. Truly, RPGs are not the only possible source (there are computer games, TV series, films, comics). None of those is evil in itself, and watching or playing them will not cause any harm per se. But it is undeniable that pre-teenagers and teenagers nowadays find witchcraft and neo-paganism highly appealing, and many are all too willing to let go of reason to dwell in the fantastic and cool world of 'magick'.

Mike McK #fundie christianforums.com

And yet, whenever I ask an atheist to show some evidence of science contradicting the Bible, they can't do it.

Actually, I take that back. The Bible has contradicted science in the past.

When the commonly held science of the day said that the Earth is flat, the Bible said it is a sphere.

When the commonly held science of the day said that the Sun revolves around the Earth, the Bible said that the Earth revolves around the Sun.

As strange as it may be to believe, as recently as the late 19th century, science held that there could not be more than a hundred or so stars in the sky, but the Bible said that there are so many stars that man cannot count them all.

So, I guess, in a sense, the Bible does contradict science.

Without doubt atheists are a sad bunch. But, we still need to study their positions. Watch the Richard Dawkins/John Lennox debate online and see how pitiful Dawkins actually looks when confronted. Also, Dinesh D'Souza has many of his debates with atheists and agnostics on his website. Once confronted in person, where they cannot hide behind lengthy prose of a book, the elitest atheist looks more like an angry-grumpy old man stuttering his weathered positions through angry teeth.

Your question [about creationist dishonesty] is funny because the only one who will judge is Jesus if you believe the Bible...If I have the righteousness of Jesus all my sins will be washed away whether its lying or murder...Absent the righteousness of Jesus,I WILL BURN WITH YOU..The problem is TK is that you have no way of attaining heaven..if you are right, it doesn't exist..if I'm right you are going to Hell.
