The most stable, happy, lasting marriages I've observed are ones where the wife shows Godly submission. Not a doormat, not walking on eggshells because she's afraid of upsetting her husband, not meek and quiet. A woman who has personality, strength, and wisdom--a helpmeet who treats her husband the way God intended. Putting her husband before her children, her job, her friends, or herself. Of course, in the marriages I've observed, this is a mutual thing where the husband respects, honors, and loves his wife, and their treatment of each other builds a beautiful relationship that becomes more precious as the years go by.
