[Response to a user who posted the biblical passage of Deuteronomy 22:23-29 (the passage which commands a rape victim to marry her rapist)]
Morning, this is beautiful and holy. It is the Word of God.
He is taking care of this women who would now be soiled and never get a husband. See? Beautiful and holy.
Keep em coming! The Word of God is righteous and lovely.

So, rape is the Levite version of courtship?
Easy enough to decline, ladies -- just rupture his testicles. That is why Zoe, in Her wisdom, placed the masculine off-switch within easy reach.
When glancing over Deuteronomy so long ago, I wondered if this was actually a good idea in the way-back-when.
The answer came up: NO!
But also: Probably only 1.5x as bad as any real alternative, rather than you know, 50x as bad.
Life sucked.
IIRC, there were also some rights given to married women. But I'm not sure how, or if, they made this seem any less terrible than it is.
Beautiful and holy to match for life women to people who don't respect them at all?, beautiful and holy a society which punishes women who are guilty of nothing?. Moreover, who tells you that those men don't do that on purpose to force women who would be reluctant to marry them by law?
Have you lost your motherfucking mind? Were you ever REALLY in possession of it? DO you REALLY want to marry someone who would rape you? And here's another.. what if that rapist is already married? What if YOU are already married? You are a fucking fruitcake, lady.. and you really should seek professional help.
It's a ruling in favor of the ugly, stupid, socially impaired Fundy guy- he can't get the pretty girl so he rapes her and makes her his property.
I hope this guy gets in the hands of a totally out of control Dominatrix!
From David B.: "So speaks someone who has no daughters."
Speak for yourself, I'm hoping for my 40 shekels.
Wait, wait... As a rape victim, I just have to comment...
My step-brother was the one who raped me. But you guys frown on icest.
:( What now?
In the best way this verse can be interpreted, it can be called neither beautiful nor holy. It can, however, be called a really unique form of creative sentencing for the rapist.
5'd and then some.
P.S. You're a loon, and none of your other posts do any better to help your case.
Soiled. Right. Because the only valuable thing about her was her virginity, and hell, now that that's gone, she's just damaged goods.
@ Amanda & Giga Guess:
I'm coming, too.
This asshole is so full of himself, he'll never admit to being in error about his translation of anything. I guarantee you this is the tip of the iceberg of insane babble this idiot is capable of. Unless he gets banned from that forum, you'll have plenty of bullshit to choose from.
@ Alena and menopausal bitch
Room for everyone, I'm aure.
CROSS OVER CHILDREN, ALL ARE WELCOME! :p
makes a bit of sense in biblical times actually, since they didn't have the support structure we do today and an unmarried woman with no father to take care of her had nothing. it would definitely not be justified in a more civilised society, but it did mean that he hadto take care of her permanently.
Lab Rat:
I'm donating to that charity every bloody day, I swear it.
What terrifies me is that ShieldOfFaith may be walking out in public, actually having contact with decent human beings, instead of being locked away for life.
As a women's self defense instructor, I'd be more than willing to put ol' SoF (whom I previously thought was female, now I know differently) into the "big red suit". On one condition, however.. I get the first crack.
"Righteous and lovely"?!
I hope that there's a Very Special Place in hell for people like ShieldofFail.
I'd also like to say that if this is God's idea of taking care of somebody, I'm taking business elsewhere.
But first, a word alone with this guy. And some steel-toed boots for myself.
@Amanda, Giga Guess, Alena re- trip to Mars
Great then. I'll bring the beer.
Does anyone have a copy of the "Homosexual Agenda"? It'll be something to read on the way.
If there's lots of room, we can all go: we'll can call this the Atheistic Rapture :)
@Jake Steel
I'm sure God will protect him, if it's his will.
@menopausal bitch
Coincidentally, I just got my copy in the mail. I'll Xerox a copy.
@Nicholas, Rubyfruit - shouldn't be a problem. So let's see:
bigger spaceship - check
smart people + me - check
beer + recreational stuff - check
Homosexual agenda, HP books, science books, science fiction books - check
I'm thinking when we get there, we should make a big sign that the sattelites can pick up and beam back. Something like:
I'm not coming back after all - signed God
PS: neener neener
This is one statement choked so full of fail that I do not find it to be lulz-worthy. How can this person's better half (moar like better 9/10ths, amirite?) stand to stay with such a degranged fucktard?
Screw that whole moving to Mars crap. I vote we tie people like this up and put them on a slow rocket bound for Jupiter so they'll be off of this wonderful planet.
With the sheer amount of stupidity coming from SheildOFail, I give him, 4 out of 5 failures;

*EDIT!*
Upon further review, SheildOFail has been awarded the fifth and worst Fail. He has displeased King Leonidas:

Congratulations, you fuckwit, you've earned it.
"He is taking care of this women who would now be soiled and never get a husband. See? Beautiful and holy."
In the eyes of those who view women as property and not as people, yes.
But guys, we've got it all wrong! Since it's in the Bible and God designed us with that plan in mind since He's all-knowing, obviously we're just perverting God's plan to not treat them like property.
I'm mean, I'm sitting here posting this instead of popping out babies so obviously I'm already damned but, hey...God Says So!
I can only weep if people truely think like this.
as noone else has said it (or done much except plan shieldofaith's demise by cricket bats; plan trips to Mars; donate cricket bats to Zoony the Lazoon and say WTF), I would like to state that I have no problem "taking care", as he put it, of said victim. I also have no problem "taking care" of said rapist.
@Bubba
That's a valid point...
@Amanda, Giga Guess, Alena, and Menopausal Bitch
You guys aren't leaving without me!
Rape my daughter, then come to my house to marry her with your Bible saying God told you that it was your right! You will eat it page by page, and you will get to find out if God lets Castratos in his heavenly choir, first hand.

You are operating under the false assumption that women in ancient Israel had any choice in their selection of a husband at all.
Generally speaking, all marriages were arranged marriages. The man could choose his bride, but not vice-versa.
And these guys say atheists have no morals.
If this is what your religion says, then your religion is sick, twisted and fucked up.
So instead of God popping an angel in to say "she is blameless and beloved of God, treat her with dignity and respect, and by the way, beat the rapist senseless" so that people realize she is NOT damaged goods, he says "marry the guy that abused you".
Thats just sick.
This is neither beautiful nor holy. It is disgusting and vile.
A raped woman is damaged goods? What planet are you from?
1. She can get married to a person who loves her just as much as a woman who has never been raped.
2. Choosing whether or not to get married, as well as who she should marry, is completely up to the woman. It's none of your fucking business.
3. It definitely isn't your place to tell the rape victim to marry her rapist. As a matter of fact, a rapist doesn't even deserve to get married.
Go die in a fire.
Confused?
