Second, even if God was real and did those things, that would only show that your God is a genocidal asshole unworthy of worship, only worthy of scorn and hatred.
Third, it's easy for persons of small character to talk as you do until you are the ones being purged.

It's because it's a handy excuse. We didn't really do anything bad , God told us to do it. But society has moved on from such bloodthirsty times, and most people realize that it's barbaric to slaughter everyone. Even if the voices in your head tell you to.

This all sounds fine and dandy (if yo're a sociopath), as long as you are on the winning side. If it was your country that was given to some other ethnic group, and you, your family, relatives and friends were they ones who "ALL deserve to die" and your land had to be PURGED of your spiritual impurities? It wouldn't be as natural then, right?
