I go to our local discount grocery, and on any given day there are white kids, Mexican kids, and mixed, gods only know what kids, all funneling into the market, being kids, but not being necessarily dangerous or difficult. One of my trips, there is a black kid standing outside the entrance. He’s about 12 years old or so, no parents in sight, and he’s “loking” up on people as they walk in. For those who are unfamiliar with this black form of posturing, imagine a chimp with arms outstretched, getting in your face, begging for confrontation. This black kid was doing this to EVERYONE who walked into the store regardless of age or race, as they all pretended that they didn’t see him and let him have his petty victory. I fully expected him to do this to me as well, and I wasn’t going to pretend I didn’t see him, so I readied my knife in my sleeve and looked the nig dead in the eyes as I walked up to him. He didn’t do it to me! I was truly shocked. I don’t think it had anything to do with me being intimidating, as blacks are not able to process intimidation coming from anyone other than their own kind. He probably was distracted or got bored, but I was able to walk into the store without confrontation.
Anyhow, my point of all this being, what reason did this black kid have to be acting this way? He wasn’t oppressed, confined to a ghetto, denied opportunity, so those excuses can’t be used. He wasn’t copying other kids’ behavior since no others were behaving in that way. He wasn’t in a rough part of town. So none of the liberal excuses can be applied to his behavior. What does that leave us with? What we already know. He behaved that way because he’s black, and because being an angry, tyrannical, narcissistic, hyper-testosteroned idiot who needs to show off and cause problems for others is HARD WIRED into him.

While it simply might say I've lived in rougher neighbourhoods or that I understand the minds of the paranoid and less physically adept I find absolutely nothing about that strange. To put it in perspective, I am 6'2, 270lbs, and generally I dwarf than anyone that randomly feels the need to threaten me, which happens more often than you'd think. In my deceptively dangerous old hometime I'd be more comfotable going out sans pants than without a knife for self-defense, especially after sunset.
Additionally, the handle suggests a woman, therefore they might feel they need added protection in case they are attacked by someone larger than they are, typically they imagine a man leaping out of nowhere and dragging them into alleys. Again, this happened quite a bit more than you'd think around those parts.
Racist twaddle notwithstanding, I find this a fairly reasonable concern and a fine alternative to those lunatics that carry a gun to the groceries stores to 'defend' themselves with... pre-emptively and from extreme range.
Considering what I know of racist perceptions, the kid was probably some curious, smiling, little scamp watching the customers come and go, saying hello now and then. It bears mentioning that when I was young it wasn't uncommon for the neighbourhood watch and similar groups (as well as professional hidden shoppers and store employees) sometimes would do volunteer work of sorts for the local stores, keeping an eye out for shoplifters. After I stopped working for 7-11 I still did this out of sheer habit and concern. Of course a racist can see nothing but an open threat as the dreaded Black Person draws near.

A few centuries' worth of slavery, colonization and Jim Crow say otherwise, Fenria.
It just occured to me the kid could have been a deaf/mute. Because that makes Fenria seem like an even bigger shit I'm going to go ahead and picture that scene again with sign language.
And now it's funny that he didn't talk to you because not even the hand wanted to hear it.
what reason did this black kid have to be acting this way?
Maybe he was a young dumb kid and didn't know any better. We were all young, dumb, and full of cum at some point. Or maybe you were just misinterpreting what he was doing. People who are afraid of black people will see threatening gestures in a handshake.
I readied my knife in my sleeve and looked the nig dead in the eyes as I walked up to him.
Looks like we have a Zimmerman wannabe.
Angry, tyrannical, narcissistic idiot? You've got your mirrored sunglasses facing the wrong way again, Fenria.
Damn how sad for you, I'm sure you were just all primed to stab a 12 year old kid for doing nothing but posturing like an asshole. :(
Cheer up, maybe next time you go to the store some other (non-white) kid might look at you wrong or verbal accost you by saying "hey lady/dude" and then you can whip out your knife and stab them.
I'm sure the police will be fine with it since you were only protecting yourself from an imminent threat, right?
It can't be because the kid is a goofball, no it has to be because he's black. If you saw a white kid acting up you probably wouldn't even remember it, but because he was black it goes straight to the top of your scared, racist head.
The fact that you were preparing to PULL A KNIFE ON A TWELVE YEAR OLD whose only crime as acting like a punk is incredibly disturbing and you need to seek help from a mental health professional before you hurt somebody.
Nice story, Fenria! Now, tell us the one about the tyrannosaurs in F-14s!
(I'm a Calvin & Hobbes fan. What can I say?)
If there was a kid acting like a jerk, it was simply a 12 year old kid acting like a 12 year old kid-jerk!
Also, you have a knife because you're afraid of A 12 YEAR OLD BOY! Pretty pathetic, if you ask me.
So because some kid was acting like a jackass you got ready to stab him. I'm a twitched out geek with Asperger's and you know what, I don't have half your paranoia.
This idiot needs to get mugged by a white guy. Any volunteers?
I'm a 6'5 260 lb. black man living in a suburb that is about 70% white. If I reached for a knife every time someone looked at me funny I'd be whipping out a knife almost every day. I get funny looks and uneasy stares from white people who are newbies to this area (Anne Arundel County, Maryland). That can be especially insulting since I've lived here since 1994 and I have out-of-staters, who just moved to Maryland in the past 1-6 years chasing lucrative govt and defense contractor jobs, looking at me like I'M the one who's out of place. I can imagine a lot of the white people who do that may be from areas of the US that are less diverse and they may not be used to seeing blacks walking around in middle-class suburbs as residents. Even though it doesn't make their sometimes rude looks feel any less insulting.
It has nothing to do with me looking mean or dressing "thuggish" either. I dress somewhat preppy and I get the same reaction even when I'm wearing a business suit home from work and have a smile on my face. I've even had a lady literally RUN from me when I called out "Excuse me, Miss?" to her in almost saccharine tone (sometimes I soften up my baritone voice to put skittish strangers at ease). I was trying to return her cell phone that she dropped. When I called out "You dropped your phone!" after her as she ran away she came back and said "Thanks" with a sheepish and embarrassed look on her face. I know it's probably because her racist assumption was wrong and she made an ass of herself, but I was kind enough to not point that out or even try to educate her. I hoped her embarrassment was a good enough lesson.
Instead of being ready to get into a confrontation about every odd look do you know what I do? Ignore 'em and move on with my life.
Given what we know about racists making up "Black Encounter Story" tales to impress their racist buddies I'd bet $20 to shit this whole event either didn't happen or this racist WAY embellished it.
Last time somebody did that to me, it was a white trash teenager. So, no, it's not limited to black kids.
It sounds like this child might have been developmentally disabled in some way - perhaps autistic - and maybe separated from an adult?
So a 12 year old is so intimidating that you readied a knife, even though, by your own account, he just postured at people, didn't touch them or even speak to them? You have more problems than he does.
Confused?
