Yeah, aren't we just about to the point now where every possible same-sex pair in fiction has been shipped by somebody anyway? That should be one of those "internet rules," like #34 and #63 that you always hear about. Or maybe it is already, I don't know. Though, of course, "slash fiction" definitely predates the internet....
And I really, really could not care less. As a parent with kids who up until recently liked to watch MLP, I honestly can't understand why any grown man would be interested in this enough to call himself a Brony. At least any more than any other kids' cartoon out there.

Getting mad just encourages the trolls, and since you're just another voice in the undifferentiated mire of an imageboard, even the non-trolls aren't really going to care what you think. You're just text on a screen; you don't even have a name for people to connect your posts together and start building an image of you.
Sure, having an identity makes it possible for people to attack you with it, but it is also necessary for anything even approximating a friendship to form. Lack of names, though it's what ultimately makes an imageboard an imageboard, is (IMNSHO) a truly terrible design choice. For anybody who will listen, I recommend not participating in a chan. All sufficiently large chans inevitably turn into hellholes. You need that human connection (and an active mod team) to prevent it; the fact that it requires a minimal amount of vulnerability doesn't really make "no names, not even chosen pseudonyms" a decent tradeoff for anything but a super-strictly-moderated support channel, and even there the operator of the channel keeps track of identities, but just hides it from the customer.
With the exceptions of Shining Armor and Princess Cadence, of course.

Especially as Tempest Shadow is referenced in the first episode of this new 8th series of "MLP:FiM"; the fact there's a Hippogriff as a student in the new school Twilight has founded.
Maybe Emily Blunt won't voice Tempest in this series, should this character make an appearance in future episode(s); perhaps someone who sounds similar? Or they can get Ms. Blunt to do so again: now she's officially canon, post-film.
