The Gay Media are asking all of North America to allow them the equivalent of passing final judgment on Phil Robertson for his comments. I for one can not do that and I would never pass judgment on a gay person for espousing his or her rights. Why do some people feel the overarching need to do this. Every community has it's nut jobs but c'mon people. Let the man have his job back. Hasn't he apologized enough yet???? The unofficial poll on this site is almost 10 to 1 against his removal. A&E, please remember how you make your money! I feel almost safe in calling this reverse discrimination.

The Gay Media? So, you would never pass judgment on a gay person for "espousing" his/her rights, would you?
I'd say that most people forget that this dolt even exists between the times you fundies bring him and his hate speech out in the open again. If the official poll is also ten to one against his removal, he will probably not be removed permanently.
There is no such thing as reverse discrimination. Either your rights (or social opportunities) are infringed upon, due to gender, age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, gender-identity, religion, etc, or they are not. And no, having to respect the rights of others is not an infringement of your human rights.
Which is why Amos and Andy is still on the air.
Let's consider this: the math is that 1 in 10 persons are homosexual. That means a large minority of A&E's viewers are gay, whether in or out of the closet. This says nothing about people who are just naturally turned off by listening to some hick knuckle dragger.
This all means that A&E is running the risk of pissing off a large segment of their viewing public who may decide they can watch something either more interesting or less offensive that night.
What's even funnier? A&E stands for Arts and Entertainment, and once upon a time, it was supposed to show educational shows and art like ballet, modern dance, theater and so on. When it was first introduced, guys I knew took to calling it the Gay Channel. That didn't last long.
Hasn't he apologized enough yet????
IIRC he didn't apologize at all. He just said that he was religious and everyone is the same in the eyes of his god, but not once in there was the word "sorry" or anything which indicated he was in any way in the wrong. And he still got his job back.
And don't forget, he made racist comments as well which he didn't apologize for. He's just a huge bigot, and if people want to watch him on TV then that's their business, but I've seen their show and have been more entertained by watching paint dry.
March 3rd? You'd think a fan would have heard the old news of the "suspension" being reversed.
And if you're a fan of Phil or any of the clan there's not much hope for you. Forget about his primitive fundamentalist hate mongering that got him into a little kafuffle, Phil has never said anything on any subject that suggests he's an athority on anything.
I could do his homey, naive rambles with ease, no problem, Grampa Simpson is more quotable on some points, Marge is definately wiser by far. I'm pretty sure they've been editing out the "Wee-Doggie" as most his act is pulled from Beverly Hillbillies episodes.
His apology will be accepted, when Philly-boy abandons his homophobic way of thinking , recants of his unjustifiable 'belie fs' that make him so much as think in that way, and he becomes a left -wing Atheist.
That's what you've been trying to force on those not exactly like you, and for so long: becoming a right -wing Fundamental ist Christain homophobe.

A&E, please remember how you make your money!
I'm pretty sure they always remember that: their sponsors. And the sponsors know what happens when their products get associated with far-right prejudices.
This one is old, I know. However, I submitted it for two reasons: the "gay media" bit, and the sheer Canadianness of the comment.
Canada: even our homophobic ranters try to be cautious and remotely polite.
It's discrimination for someone who said discriminatory things to get backlash for being discriminatory? The fact that this sexist, racist, homophobe gets so much support is gross. Well, the fact that he had a show in the first place was gross, but still.
So, no. No, it is not remotely "reverse discrimination."

The Gay Media, the Liberal Media, and Fox Media walk into a bar....
Says the barkeeper: “What is this, some kind of joke?”
Confused?
