Proverbs 12:10
“A righteous man regards the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.”
I don't like to think of my dog as a "beast," but that's what he is. He's a beast, and beasts lack understanding when it comes to many things in this life.
He doesn't have any understanding when it comes to justice, the importance of truth, the beauty of music, a good beat that makes him want to tap his paw, or appreciate the beauty of a rose, or the glory of a sunset. All he cares about is eating, sleeping, and chasing cats.
That comes close to describing most men before they come to Christ. All they care about is eating, drinking and chasing woman. No wonder some women call men "beasts."

You forgot something there Ray.

Accomplished Atheist abound, beyond question.
Just another sign that Rays just trying to piss people off and his fan base likes unwarranted accusations.
All they care about is eating, drinking and chasing woman.
So do Christian men like Josh Duggar, only they get a pass because they've been "saved."
Oh, SHUT THE FRIGG UP, Bananaman! You've long stopped being relevant. Especially once you became an even bigger bigoted asshole than you used to be.
Seriously, I'd rather be such an "unsaved" hedonist than a dirty, lying, little scam artist like you.
dogs don't understand music, no. and this is likely connected somehow with the fact that most of their vocalizations are not learned. species that DO learn to make whatever sounds they make, by example and copying, CAN carry a beat and appreciate human music; this has been demonstrated with parakeets, at very least. you could argue that parakeets are smarter than dogs, but even i wouldn't rank them on a level with humans.
dogs understand "justice" in a way quite different from how humans do. their notion of "fairness" is tied much more strictly into pack rank and leader's privilege, to the point where adult humans would not consider it "fair" or "just", yet they do have standards for it, even though not human standards. canine "fairness" more closely resembles human-toddler "fairness", though with a bit more pack discipline.
and i dare say dogs understand truth to some extent. they can be easily fooled by tossing an imaginary, nonexistent ball, yet they look at me with disappointment and betrayal every time they get caught out by that trick. it's rare for a dog to deceive --- i doubt they have a good enough model of mind to see the advantages --- but they do understand what it is to be deceived.
"Beasts" was just "animals" back when the Bible was written, it had no monster-ish connotation.
Our old cat liked AC/DC. She seemed to be listening when that was played, like she didn't do with any other kind of music we played.
You have no understanding of the beauty of a lamp-post full of the smells of all the other dogs that have passed, nor the glory of a good chase after cats.
So, after men come to Christ, they lose the liking of women? They all become Christ's lover-boys?
“A righteous man regards the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.”
Okay, I have no idea what the first part is supposed to mean, but judging by the antithesis in the second clause (evil people can and will act nice and seemingly benevolent when it suits their plans), it is probably nothing like whatever point Banana Man is trying to make.
This is one of the reasons why people don't like fundamentalist Christianity. Not only does it say that Dogs are mere beasts, but it says that they don't even have a soul. They don't believe that you can reunite with a pet in the afterlife because they don't even go to heaven. That's enough to turn many people away.

Josh Buggar. Meanwhile, Drew Pritchard's dog Enzo is head of security at Pritchard's Antiques in Gran Conwy, Wales. Thus:

Oh my God, just more of the same. This is nothing new, it's just a new, but not terribly creative, analogy for the same boring, tired nonsense that fundies are forever prattling on about.
Why do they keep doing this? Coming up with analogies that do nothing but retell the same old crap they've always told?
GET SOME NEW MATERIAL, FUNDIES!
It's the old saying again: the more I see of some men, the more I love dogs.
It's wonderful how sweet these "beasts" can be, when they know you're upset. So they care about more than some people think.
Ray, have you sold everything you own and given to the poor? Why not, Ray? Don't you follow the bible? Why don't you follow Jesus, Ray?
"I don't like to think of my dog as a "beast," but that's what he is. He's a beast, and beasts lack understanding when it comes to many things in this life. "
Beasts are much like fundies - Ray for example.
"He doesn't have any understanding...the beauty of music"
Really Ray "BANANA! FTW!" Dis-Comfort?
Maybe your dog rightfully thinks that you are an obnoxious, moronic, imbecilic, arrogant, self-righteous, self-important, porn-stache wearin', banana stroking ass-chapeau AND that your choice in music (probably gospel) is shit? Did that ever occur to you, B-Ray-n-less?
My pal is a ten year old, black lab mix with severe hip dysplasia. Who will, even though it is quite painful for him, get up and come into the living room and lay next to me every evening when I practice playing guitar.
Check yourself before you croco-deck yourself!

Since atheists tend to make more money than believers, this notion that they are undisciplined hedonistic Slaanesh worshipers is objectively false.
Also, I'm no expert on the subject, but I suspect that there is a considerable amount of research on the extent to which animals can find something beautiful. Ray clearly views animals the way the Bible/Ayn Rand views humans.
That's uh...kinda sexist, you know? And I'm saying that as a woman here. You're claiming that men need outside influences (religion, women) to civilize them, but women are born civilized. The fact that your view is harmful to your own self-esteem as a man, and to the self-esteem of other men is enough to make it bad, but I'd also like to point out that your view isn't even helpful to women, as it provides an excuse to exclude women from religious activities (we don't "need" it like men do). So you're harming men to help really no one.
Confused?
