A free one-way first class ticket to the country of origin. A legally binding agreement to never return and you get to keep your government handout (we’ll mail it to you).
You would live like a king in most places.
That’s reparations.

Hmmm. I'm half White Hispanic and half Black. So...what do I get? An economy seat on the flight? My government handout sent via carrier pigeon?
Seriously, the day you give this land back to the Native Americans (and the portions that belonged to Mexico back to them) and go back to Europe, that's the day you can start banging your Neanderthal skull against the keyboard demanding that everyone go back to his/her country of origin.
YOU are an intruder in someone else's country. DIAF.
:/
@Unbeliever
Good point, but I meant the Aztecs, the Tohono O'Odham, and the other tribes that were originally in Mexico before the Europeans showed up. I probably should've been clearer on that. Not that I think everyone should actually go back to where they originated lol. That's ridiculous, and most people's ancestors came from so many different places. Besides, I believe diversity is one of our strongest assets as a nation. Just pointing out how ridiculous OP's logic is.
I'm french, my wife is Polish, should our daughter be half-sent back to Lower Silesia?
That's not only the USA. By definition it's absurd, or we 7 Billion human beings shall move back to the rift valley.
The thing is, if we go back far enough, we're all "invaders," and if we stop recently enough, pretty much all of us are natives. Are you also in favor of throwing the whites out of New Zealand, Hawaii, and South Africa?
You going to Europe?
And what about mixed-race people? Do you cut them up and send each part to a different country? Or do you give them dual/multiple citizenship?
Or do you just not follow through with this suggestion?
I like the "live like a king" part though. It's magnanimous compared to most racists.
@ Seed of Cthulhu:
Oh, I agree with you about the OP. However, Aztecs themselves were rather aggressive - which is precisely why Spaniards were able to destroy them so easily. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend".
I guess the point here is that the whole "go back to your home country" makes just as much sense as any call for historic reparations - none.
@ jsonitsac
I read this article, yes. 2 questions:
1) Who gets to pay? The oppressors themselves are long since gone into the graves. Their descendants? Last I checked, children are not responsible for the crimes of their fathers. Federal government? That means, essentially, me, since the money would come out of taxpayer's pocket. And I fail to see how I personally am guilty of any of the discrimination.
2) I happen to be a Jew. Whatever the blacks suffered in the United States, we can match by taking a look at Jewish history in Europe (eastern and western), Muslim countries, United States (yes, for awhile we were in the same undesirable category here as the blacks). Should we start the case for reparations against the entire world?
The first thing the Europeans did when they set foot on American soil was turn on their heels, look at everyone else coming to America, and say "GET OFFA MAH LAND, FAWNUH!"
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
