Notice that when London was just bombed, how Americans were showing support and sympathy. Yet when the WTC towers were hit, all the pressed showed was how the people in Europe were saying we deserved it. We're already sending financial aid and support to them, but we're evil. Remember that.

We don't need your money, your economy is dying and your leader is a satanist chimp.
"Thou Shalt Not Kill" - plenty of people taking about killing "Ay-rabs" here though, see you in hell... hypocrites.
Actually, from what I recall, there was an initial outpouring of global support, but the American leaders were so ungrateful and used the attention as an opportunity for a quick power-grab, most of the world ended up disgusted at them.
America seems to see itself as the world's ONLY beneficiaries, to the point that they seem intent on PREVENTING other nations from sizeable charitable deeds unto itself. It's like American charity is nothing but an act of smugness.
"Notice that when New York was bombed, how the British were showing support and sympathy. Yet when the IRA were bombing Britain, many Americans funded/supported them. Remember that."
Fixed! Karma chameleon, jerk. Oh, and despite your comments, I'll still participate in the minutes' silence on your memorial days....just as I did this year on the fifth anniversary.
I travel a lot, and I thoroughly enjoy a good political discussion, so I've a reasonable insight into the global opinion of Americans. Most people are able to distinguish between the acts of the American government and the acts of their citizens; most people were suitably outraged at 9/11, and most still are: it was a terrible, terrible day. Those same people are, however, not impressed with the government's handling of the situation.
I wonder if these people crying foul about America's apparent ill treatment by the international community are the same ones declaring that all Muslims are scum and advocating for the invasion of left leaning South American countries. You can't have it both ways.
You weren't in Europe after 9/11 I see. Not saying anything more about that. I kinda feel USA, as a nation, had 911 comming, although civilian causualities = teh bad. The big picture, BigTlillODD-san, the big picture.
Funny, I remember that the US got sympathy from pretty much the entire world.
Queen Elizabeth attended a ceremony in Britain where our national anthem was played. And if you actually think about what the Star Spangled Banner is about, that's pretty impressive.
Hell, even Qaddafi issued a response that was something on the order of "not even the United States deserved that."
IIRC, we did get a lot of sympathy from many nations just after 9/11. My mother saved the newspapers that prove it. :)
It was later on, when we decided to shift tactics and launch an invasion of Iraq in 2003 that we lost respect with a lot of people (other Americans included).
Your former president's lack of control of the stock-market dragged the whole world into a financial crisis, which isn't completely over yet. Remember that!
I lost my job, thanks to Baby Bush.
I remember watching the hits on the Twin Towers, again and again on TV, and being just as horrified every single time. Last time I checked Sweden is in Europe.
London is not Europe. Part of; yes, equal to; no.
I remember watching an Italian soccer match shortly after 9/11 at which an enormous Stars and Stripes was draped from one of the balconies. Just one example of how Europe said you "deserved" it.
I also remember here in South Africa that a minute's silence was observed before the start of a rugby match three or so days after the attacks. Not that South Africa is in Europe, in case I've confused any fundies, just illustrating how widespread global sympathy for America was at the time.
...ARE YOU KIDDING ME, YOU WANKER?! I'm too young to really remember 9/11 - I think I was like 5 at the time - but I do know that my parents both left work early to find out what was happening, and that everyone was horrified.
Actually, now that I remember, a royal army band played "The Star Spangled Banner" outside Buckingham Palace the day after 9/11. That anthem was written during a war with the UK (well, the British Empire). I mean, damn...
"BigTlilODD", here is a small story about the sympathy and solidarity the USA received after 9/11:
http://www.snopes.com/rumors/winston.asp
The whole crew of a US warship couldn't hold back their tears. Quote from this Ensign's letter: "The German Navy did an incredible thing for this crew, and it has truly been the highest point in the days since the attacks."
And remember: It was the war-mongering rhetoric of your former president and his administration in the months after 9/11 which alienated the whole world. Europe showed you incredible sympathy. In return, we were called "Old Europe", French Fries were renamed "Freedom Fries", french wine was poured into the sink, and we were called cowards because we dared to raise objections to your silly war in Iraq.
Bullshit! That day we Europeans were all like harts in headlights; we all watched the planes crash into WTC and Pentagon, again and again and again, and wondering what kind of inhuman being could do such a thing.
How much financial aid have you sent to Oslo?
Some Europeans did suggest America had it coming, that's because they're better educated in world affairs then Americans. America (and Britain) have been fucking with the middle east since WW1 and America's been the main bastard for the last 40 years.
This is documented and vetted, people. Reagan was a proven provoker and interloper, yet years later Americans act like he was a reasoner (he was actually a puppet, I use him as a time-frame marker of when it went OBVIOUSLY wrong.)
And in the end, that was Right-wing bullshit you just stated. Many countries offered financial and moral support. Just like after Katrina, W (another puppet ) refused foreign aid, Hell, They refused domestic aid.
W gave money to church groups and blocked FEMA (a proven disastor relief system) and the money never found it's way out to the people who needed it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
