You only wish to believe homosexuality is not perversion but a normal variation of human sexuality, when in fact another person's consent has no bearing on the mental state of the other person. So close, and yet so far. As for why homosexuality is no longer classified as a mental disorder, the APA declassified it as such because they couldn't give a good rationale for it being one.
