@1959839:
That comment is just like how the Zionist conspiracies and the most blatant anti-Semitic remarks, such as this one, taint Corbyn. They don't come from Corbyn's mouth, but he's happy to let it pass, he is profoundly ignorant of the subject at best, and he is unwilling to do anything to stop the hounding of Jewish MPs even when he's in the same room. Also, Corbyn doesn't need anyone to sabotage his leadership, he does that himself. Finally, not all anti-Corbyn MPs and Labour supporters are 'Blairites.' Plenty of the rebels are of the soft left and bear little resemblance to Blair. Unlike Corbynites, other Labour factions aren't prone to the creation of weird personality cults where the leader and ideological purity matters more than the party or indeed the country. I'd say that the country needs a Labour government, especially the working classes, but Corbyn isn't going to give us it and I have to say that I don't want him to, given his worrying associations and views.
Corbyn has failed, he's lost the confidence of an overwhelming number of Labour MPs. If he is actually anything like the decent and honourable portrayal by his supporters he'd step down and let the party recover. As it is he is refusing to go, making it seem like he is bigger than the party. It's egotistical, narcissistic and self-righteous, but I expect nothing less from Corbyn and the harder left who see this as an opportunity to 'take back' the party from the enemy. There's nothing a hard leftist hates more than a leftist who doesn't share the same ideals.
In all due fairness, the attacks on Corbyn this time were very much nonsensical. Apparently the man was making a speech against anti-semitism, but mentioned that criticism of Israel's right wing governments and policies should not be confused with anti-semitism, even though many anti-semites try to cloak themselves as simply being concerned with Israel's political direction.
I happen to agree with him on the subject: I have no problem with Israel in general, and my very much Jewish girlfriend would've smothered me with a pillow had I had any anti-semitic sentiment, but I absolutely loath Netanyahu and the rest of his murderous cabinet.
@Elie:
This tweet is from before that episode. Also, I'd argue that a Jew who supports Israel has nothing to apologise for, a Muslim who supports IS or other similar Islamic organisations (e.g. Al Qaeda, Hamas) is concerning. That's a major I issue I have with his stupid and ill thought out comparison which has brought ire.
Confused?
