Proverbs 12:5
“The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.”
How would you like to have your thought-life broadcast on LIVE television 24 hours a day, for a month? What rating do you think they would give it?
Most Christians wouldn't want that to happen because they battle sin daily. Godless thoughts hit our minds as fiery darts from the enemy. These come in the form of selfishness, deceit, greed, lustful thoughts, uncharitable attitudes, jealousy and every other sin in the Book.
Our consolation is that when these sinful thoughts hit our minds, we deflect them to the cross, and put on the mind of Christ. It is there that our thoughts are always right.

I can blast your entire argument out of the space-time continuum with just two words, Ray Cumfart: Josh Buggar.
NEXT!
"Godless thoughts hit our minds as fiery darts from the enemy."
Or maybe you should take responsibility for your own shit. It is you, your brain, your thoughts, it is not something inflicted upon you by "the enemy".

Yes I've seen that in your posts.
Guess what, Ray? Those thorts* don't really come from the devil, they are all your own. When you have lustful thorts, it's not the devil making you horny, it's your own brain.
And be careful blaming others about having uncharitable attitudes, Ray. Beams and motes in eyes and all that stuff.

“The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.”
Translation: "when you are a king, they basically have to write down whatever you tell them to."
I mean, the thoughts of the righteous are right? Wow. I would never have guessed. Did he follow that up with "the heads of the tall are higher above the ground" or "the bodies of the corpulent are massive?"
Seriously, has anybody considered the possibility that Solomon was just a sort of B.C.E. Donald Trump, spouting a bunch of vacuous catch phrases to a crowd of adoring yes-men? Give me a time machine and a beard trimming kit, so I can go live the good life.

Dunno, will I be getting paid really well for it?
Of course I don't want my thoughts broadcast to the world. There are many thoughts that go through my head that I am not proud of. But I don't need the cross to deflect them, I have self control and my own moral system to keep me in check. If you don't then I am glad you have an imaginary friend to keep you from acting them out.
>Our consolation is that when these sinful thoughts hit our minds, we deflect them to the cross
Right, and then you keep acting like the asshole you are. You aren't interested in being a better person, just in clearing your conscience. Jesus forgives you, even though you aren't sincere, so all is well.

Proverbs 12:5 actually says:
"The plans of the righteous are just,
but the advice of the wicked is deceitful." (NIV)
or
"The thoughts of the righteous are just;
the advice of the wicked is treacherous." (NRSV)
"Just" is not the same thing as "right." Ray can't even get his Bible quotes correct.
So Jesus told you to con people?
More likely you grew up in the church and decided talking shit was easier than working. Christians don't "battle sin daily" the urges you speak of are human ones and non Christians seem to be better at resisting the baser instincts.
There's certainly no evidence that religion helps.
I'd say a TV show like that would be very boring or confusing, in general. People have their own thought-show in their own brain 24/7; why mix it with someone else's?
Most atheists probably don't care, as we are not battling sin daily. Sin is an arbitrary concept; we're more into treating others as we want to be treated. As long as it's only thoughts, they don't harm others.
So, a Christian's thought show would be short glimpses of selfishness, deceit, lust, jealousy, etc and then hours and hours of Christ on a cross? I'd say very, very poor ratings for that one...
... selfishness, deceit, greed, lustful thoughts, uncharitable attitudes, jealousy and every other sin in the Book. ...
Damn, I'm glad I'm not a Christer and have all this shit in my head 24/7 - plus the demons!
Even with an invisible scape goat to bear the burden; not worth it.
Btw, fundies' evil thoughts pretty much are televised 24/7.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
