My father died when I was young and saying I had a bad relationship with my step father would be an understatement, and yet I'm not gay. More to the point I have several friends who are gay, and not one of them hada bad relationship with their parents or any other "father figure". In fact most of them hqave parent, mothers and fathers both, that are very supportive of them and their lifestyle. Kinda fucks up your assertion there, don't it?
