Deanna Turner Godman There are a whole lot of Christians destroying their testimony by defending child molestation. I absolutely can not believe the lengths people will go to to defend someone because they claim to be Christian. (The Duggars are in a cult, BTW.)

I want to see where Christians are defending child molestation. If you can show me where I have defended the idea that it was ok, or right, or good, for Josh to fondle his sisters I will pay you $1,000.
The only thing you will see me addressing is the fact that based on Atheism, there is no reason for Josh to say I am sorry.
If you can not defend your statement I ask you to retract it.

YOU defended it personally, you lying little asshat! It was your assertion that him saying "I'm sorry, Jesus" somehow absolved him of guilt and that we thus had no place judging him! And for a broader look, exactly what do you call the Catholic church covering up this shit for decades, shifted the priests around to keep things hush-hush? Fucking Christian Tetris?

Because, as with marriage and recently with logic, itself, many theists think that they can just plant a flag (or cross) on morality and claim it as belonging to them and/or being of their preferred god's creation. It doesn't matter that pretty much every culture throughout recorded history has engaged in some form of marriage. It doesn't matter that they have to directly violate logic on multiple levels in order to even believe what they believe. It doesn't matter that we've had moral philosophies and legal systems since long before the pantheon which spawned Yahweh was even a thing. Fact and simple reason don't matter to these people. All that matters is that they grabbed on to these concepts and screamed "MINE" like a child grabbing its sibling's toy. Like a four-year-old, they consider this all the argument they need to prove that it is so.

Open your fucking eyes. Christians everywhere are defending a child molester because he said he's sorry and God forgave him, and they're defending his parents who covered the whole thing up. So in essence, they're defending child molestation. You yourself are guilty of this.

That's not to mention that they're completely missing the point that they always blame sex crimes on things like porn, television or popular culture, or women wearing pants, when Josh was raised "the right way" without any porn, without any TV, without any internet, without any popular culture, without any talk of sex, and around a bunch of girls wearing dresses all the time. They're ignoring that someone who was totally sheltered but still turned into a child molester. Yet they insist that they way they live is the only correct way to live because being exposed to popular culture turns kids into crazed sex maniacs.

The only missing thing here is Deanna didn't mention your defence is for one of your own, people pretending to be better than they are, the highly noticable level of hypocrisy inherent in Christianity.
