The Jews of today have used the slaughter of European Jews during WWII to their advantage. When they find something they disagree with, they pull the race card into play and scream, “anti-Semitism, you are an anti-Semite!” Being labeled as an anti-Semite can be compared to being blacklisted or receiving the kiss of death in society. Consequently, everyone is afraid to criticize the Jews for fear of being blacklisted as anti-Semitic! It is important that people know that it is not anti-Semitic to criticize Jews or the policies of the state of Israel. After all, why shouldn’t Gentiles be able to converse about the Jews or any other people for that matter without being labeled as a racist?

You see, if you regard one group of people as some kind of hive mind, just because they share an ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or gender, you are a bigot and have prejudices.

And the more specific word for someone who is prejudiced against Jews is “Anti-Semit”. Deal with it.

That sentence is surprisingly correct. It just gets into anti-Semitic territory as soon as you start to throw your critic at “The Jews”, instead of specific Jews. For an example, just see your next sentence

Sadly there are some jews who do indeed hide behind the holocaust. These cowards are NOT representative of all judaism.
First off, I would like to point out the fallacy of linking the entire global Jewish community with Israel. Many of us have no ties to that nation and many of us criticize Netanyahu and his policies as much as other people do. This weird, anti-semitic idea that Jews = Israel and Israel = Jews is unbelievably stupid.
Next, I have to address our resident bigot, D Laurier.
Now, you're going to accuse me of defending Zionism or of 'hiding behind the Holocaust', but as I have done in the past, I'm going to point out that you are an Anti-Semite and you also know very little about the people you claim to have the authority to criticize. The proper word for the Jewish house of worship is 'synagogue' which translates roughly into 'community center'. A synagogue is not a church and they historically have served two different purposes ((While a church is strictly a house of worship, as previously said a synagogue doubled as a community center)). Second, Jews worship on Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and for some Saturday evenings. In Judaism, Saturday is the day of rest and that means that's the day we go to synagogue, Sundays are a work day for Jewish people, and this has translated into the Secular Jewish community as the day when we do not work ((More observant Jews do not even leave the house, go shopping or use the telephone)). Now, I pointed out the fact that you intentionally use the incorrect word for the synagogue as a sign of your disdain for the Jewish people as a whole in a previous thread and was told it wasn't sufficient evidence. However, the fact that you continue to use it and other improper words means that you simply don't care about offending any Jewish person who happens to frequent this site, observant or otherwise. You're an Anti-Semite, and the sooner you admit that fact, the sooner we can all get to showing you the disdain you so rightly deserve.

Additionally, pointing out your lack of historical knowledge, 'Semite' does not refer only to Arabic speaking peoples, it refers broadly to all people who come from The Levant and other Semitic language groups. The former includes Arabs, Hebrews ((Jews, especially Ashkenazim, Sephardic and the Proto-Jewish Samaritan peoples)), Assyrians, the Lebanese and Libyans ((Through their unified Phoenician ancestry)) while the latter includes anyone speaking Arabic, Hebrew, Maltese, Aramaic, Tigre, Tigrinya and a host of other tongues from the region. The fact that you refuse to admit that the word refers to anyone from that region including Jewish people proves either your ignorance or your general dislike for everyone that falls under that moniker, at least everyone other than Arabs, apparently.

A demonstration, if ever one was needed, that it is true of a fair number of gentiles rather than Jews who exploit the Holocaust to their own advantage. As Chas Newkey-Burden points out, the problem with the "Jews of all people" argument is that, what it says is as we gentile killed six million of your people, it is you , not us, who need to learn its lessons and you , not us, that need to clean up their act. Newkey-Burden is correct to call this argument "atrocious, spiteful insanity."
I expect no less from D Laurier who has made it his mission to deny the existence, when inconvenient to him, of the nearly 50% of the Jewish population of Israel whose forebears arrived in Israel as refugees fleeing from Arab lands and speaking fluent Arabic, often as their first language. To D Laurier, there is no such thing as a Jewish people and Jewishness can only be expressed through religion. Jewish languages, literature, art and culture that have existed for thousands of years as part of daily life beyond religion, and even in the last two centuries for Jewish atheists, are neither here nor there. The standard for ethnicity that apply to every other people on earth, in D Laurier's eyes, do not apply to the Jews though they do apply to the Palestinians whose origin as a people is far more recent.

D Laurier's getout from the deserved charge of anti-Semitism is that Arabs are "Semites," that, as Mech610 observes, are speakers of a Semitic language. As this term would have to include speakers of Kabyle (against whom there is much hatred in the Arab world), Maltese and Tigrinya, it becomes absurd. But he is not using this, because he only qualifies Arabs as sufficiently "semitic." The point is, as D Laurier fully intends, to deny peoplehood to Jews. This new "definition," one unknown to pretty much every dictionary and every common usage in the West. (It was, however, familiar before the 1990s to a small circle of the far left as part of the "anti-Zionist" campaign launched by Moscow around 1950 for which several communist countries apologized in 1990 for its anti-Semitism. It continues to this day among Arab nationalists and their apologists of far left and far right in the West, such as D Laurier).

Kol hakavod to you for your draught of reason faced with such hatred. On the linguistic front, Greek and Armenian are Indo-European languages, though both, like Albanian, are in groups on their own. Kurdish is another Indo-European language related to Iranian languages. Turkish is a Turkic language, like those of the Caucasus, Central and North Asia such as Azeri, Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Uygur and Yakut. Semitic languages are spoken in Europe, North and East Africa.

As for the languages, it would seem that the list I was reading requires some serious updating then. Linguistics isn't exactly my forte, you see, so I sought out other sources. It claimed that Greek, Turkish, Kurdish and Armenian had a 'relationship with' the Semitic language group and I basically assumed that to mean that they were considered a part of the group. I have edited my post accordingly to make it accurate but acknowledge my error.
Here's the thing: for many Jews, the defining moment of their lives was and is the Holocaust. I have spoken to a number who have no family history past 1945. So this notion that the Jews should just get past is not going to happen. The world let it happen, the world has to deal with it.

@1600642are people here who generalize Christian/religious/conservative etc. people as insane bigots, but the site in general aims to archive examples of religious fundamentalism, conspiracy theories and wanton racism. Fundamentalism is often hateful, bigoted and oppressive to others, CTs are just plain crazy and racism is the best example for vile, unneeded hate I can find in the world. Most of us don't generalize religions as fundie. There are religious moderates among the commenters, myself included. Not to mention the site has a strict policy of only laughing at worthy quotes, as expressed by the Submission Guidelines: "Quotes must be both Fundie AND Darndest to be worthy of submission. Simple declarations of faith need not apply."
