If you think that graph's impressive, try graphing the movement of the continents over the same period.
Or use the same scale for local temperature over the last 24 hours.

Cooling down is a fourth power function while heating up by CO2 is subject to the law of diminishing returns. For this reason I am still unpersuaded that CO2 is any more alarming than Y2K, ZPG, Peak Oil, 2012 the Mayan Apocalypse, the ozone hole, or the Rapture. Alarmists always overstate things.
In the Geological Literature warmer periods than today are referred to as Global Climactic Optima. We haven't yet got back to the point where we can farm Greenland.
As Lomborg points out, the mean of 319 peer reviewed assessments of the impact of Global Warming is $5 per ton. I repeat: Alarmists always overstate things.

Yeah, I actually have heard of ocean acidification. Maybe you can persuade me it's cause for alarm?
Check my math for me: The website CO2 now says we put 8.8 billion tons of CO2 into the oceans in 2010.
For the sake of easy arithmetic, round that up to 13.8 billion tons for the year, then multiply by 100 for the last century. That's 1.38 trillion tons. There's 1.38 trillion cubic kilometres of water on Earth, so that's 1 ton per cubic kilometre. Each cubic kilometre is 1 billion tons of water. So for every atom of CO2 we input into the ocean, there's a billion atoms of water.
Is my math wrong?
How can this be a problem? We need our most precise modern instruments even to detect a concentration that minute. Especially since I have deliberately exaggerated the amount of human CO2, and assumed none came out, none precipitated as fish shit into the primordial ooze, or decarbonized through seaweed photosynthesis or the myriad other minimizing effects.
The phrase 'ocean acidification' is spin, and is alarmist exaggeration. We do not have the ability to make the alkaline oceans acidic even if we devoted every human effort to the task.
In places, actual measurements of Ocean PH levels naturally varied more each day than the predicted end of century variation. The foretold ocean ecosystem catastrophe was not found.
The CO2science.org observations indicate that slightly lower Ph levels will on balance improve the health of ocean ecosystems.
So yeah, I've heard the term. It discusses a real effect. But on the information I'm aware of, it's vastly over-rated.
