Sense there seems to be a concerted effort to make a God forbidden lifestyle law, it is not the Church that has drew the line of battle in the federal realm but the gay community. It is our duty as believers to meat the enemy at the battle front or let the enemy overrun our bulwarks (homes). Sense it is in the Courts, State Legislature and Congress then so be it, the battle must be met.

Growing up in the south in fifties I seem to remember hearing the same words said about "black folks"! Unless you're referring to the UK. In which case, though, divorce has been permitted by their church for 500 years.
Any church has the right to refuse to recognize gay marriage or any other marriage that doesn't conform to its rules. The Catholic Church, for example, doesn't recognize any marriage - even between two Baptists - if it wasn't sanctioned by the Catholic Church. What the state does is another matter. The state can't dictate your religious beliefs and your religion can't tell the state what to do, either. So if the state says a gay couple is married, they're married under the law. If you want to say they aren't married in the eyes of God, fine. But you can't stop them from getting spousal medical insurance, adopting children, claiming inheritances, etc. That's Caesar's business, not God's.
