“False converts? What do you know about me Ray? I was raised in church. Got saved as a teenager. Went to bible school. Volunteered and worked in churches. I believed. But through personal study I developed questions. Theological issues, moral issues, issues with certain books (not written by who they say), issues with some of the stories, etc... It led me to question the validity of the bible. Does it mean there is no god? No. But, to me, it made me question the whole belief system. This was a personal journey. I've never read any atheist books or anything like that. It is what I questioned that has led me where I am. Just don't accuse those of us like me of being false.” Keith Phillips
One of the marks of a false profession is that he "believes.” Look at how scripture puts it:
“But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away” (Luke 8:13).
You sincerely believed “for a while” but the truth is that you didn't know the Lord. You may have thought you did, but you didn't.
Tragically, you faked it for all that time, and there are millions just like you who either sat in a church and left, or are still going to church, believing, and yet not knowing the Lord.
