So, a government official who refused to give out gun licences on their GOD GIVEN RIGHT of religious freedom and its "Thou Shalt Not Kill" rule, would get your wholehearted approval too, Trumpy?
If you know that you're not going to be able to perform certain aspects of a job, you ought not to apply for that job, or inform the possible future employer about your apprehensions, so that they can reckon with the need to always have another employee at hand who WILL be able and ready to do the job, on your applicability for the job.
God certainly didn't give any religious freedom, stupid! He said to worship him, or else.
Freedom means you have the right to live your life the way you see fit, within legal & reasonable boundaries. It does not give you the right to dictate how others get to live their lives. Your rights end where other people's rights begin.
Here's an idea for when a public servant decides they want to discriminate on the grounds of "religious freedom". Since Kim Davis & others like her seem to forget that LGBTs (and other people they don't like) are also citizens & taxpayers, they should calculate what percentage of tax dollars came from LGBTs in her county, deduct that percentage from her paycheck and refund it back to the LGBTs who paid it. After all, why should they contribute to her salary if she won't provide services to them? Plus, nothing says "do your job" like your paycheck taking a hit, plus it's a good reminder of how much everyone, not just those whose lifestyle she approves of, is contributing to her Big Mac habit. (I usually don't take digs at fat people, but as the Bible says, judge & ye shall be judged). Unfortunately, there's probably no legal way to do that, but it would probably drive the message home better than martyring herself in jail.

Here is the thing she is an elected government employee. We have a secular government. Government employees are not allowed to push their religious beliefs on others. That is NOT covered in religious freedom.
Your God does not care about religious freedom. He spends the first four commandments banning religious freedom saying that you can only worship him. It is a people given right not a God given right.
Are you willing to expend as much effort to support Muslim grocery clerks who don't want to handle pork products? What about the local Muslim cabdrivers who refused to carry passengers with dogs or those who had been drinking alcohol?
Ignoring her personal situation, because she claims to be born-again, I don't recall reading anywhere about Davis refusing to issue marriage licenses to divorced people whose exes were still alive, which according to the Bible made them adulterers.
Telling her subordinates not to issue licenses was imposing her religious beliefs on others, and denying them their own.
I was sorry to read that the judge plans to revisit the case in a week. He should just let her sit in jail until he hears from the legislature that she's been impeached.

She has religious freedom. She does not have the right to prevent her entire office from issuing licenses. Also, why hasn't some public-spirited citizen slashed your throat yet, you arrogant little twunt?
