They either want to change and sincerely want Jesus to help them do it, or they want to be like they are and have Jesus accept them like that.

What have they done to you? Wrecking marriage. 50% divorce rate. No.. pretty sure married people are doing that with no help from any homosexuals.
Don't like the idea of gay sex? Me, neither. So don't look at it.

The how is entirely situational, but the why is the same reason one should defend any persecuted person. Persons must not be persecuted because of their sexual orientation... period.
Or, they don't give a big rat's ass about your God and Jesus delusions, and they just want the same rights afforded everyone else. Not everyobe's life revolves around religion.

Got it in one. That's all there is to it. Except they are not likely to be able to change, or want to, and Jesus is not going to help, because if he ever existed, he died two thousand years ago. But all in all this is a fairly reasonable post from a RaptureReady freak. There is a degree of acceptance here.

You say that like it was something unusual. The fact is that if a person wants to be a certain way, all they have to do is find some obscure line or verse in the bible, twist it a bit and presto, you have a religiously ironclad argument for why god wants you to be that way.
Your lot has already done this with greed, violence and selfishness. Doing the same thing for being gay is just as easy.
