About 6 months ago I gave a jewish coworker a gospel tract.
He laughed it off and tossed it in the garbage (i fished it out later and gave it to someone else.)
Now he is in a rock group in Austin, lots of fame, fun, and money.
I was wondering if he was rewarded for tossing the tract?
I wouldn't give up eternity in heaven for 15 minutes of fame on earth.

Of course the fact that the band members pratice, spend time writing music and lyrics, hunt down places that will let them play, and devote their time and energy to do something that they enjoy doing has no bearing on their actually being able to make money from their music.
"Mark 3:
28Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29But he that shall throweth a tract into yonder trash hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation."
Wow - and to think he could've been you, with your shitty, pathetic, deluded life if he was gullible, talentless and stupid, Buzzardhunt!
Well, I also gave the brush off to a nuisance cafeteria manager in the college where I work and is a JW. So, if I´m going to hell, one because I´m Catholic and I want to keep on being, at least nominally, and second because she´s a royal pain in the arse, at least I will have the company of a good guy who knows to have fun.
Yeah, a waitress I used to work with once got a Psalm book as a tip. She came over and showed it to me and we both got a good laugh...we laughed harder when I threw it in the trash.
Now I'm at a job making $2 more an hour and she found a job that doesn't require her to survive off of $2.65 an hour plus tips.
I guess it just goes to show you that if you throw away shit that people try to force on you, you'll eventually be rewarded.
The real problem here is psychological, someone denying themselves the joys of life, then blaming others who appear to do, perhaps out of jealousy. For invalid reasons and harmful indoctrination.

Did you hand it to him or leave it on his desk? Because most tract-tossers are afraid to make eye contact, they’re more ‘littering missionaries.’
“He laughed it off and tossed it in the garbage (i fished it out later and gave it to someone else.)”
Eugh! USED!?!?
What, too chintzy to spare the .04 cents for the tract?
“Now he is in a rock group in Austin, lots of fame, fun, and money.”
In six months?
Sounds like he was working his ass off at the time you knew him, chasing his dream.
“I was wondering if he was rewarded for tossing the tract?”
I’ve pulled a few tracts out of bathroom stalls, books at the bookstore, stairwells… Where’s my rock band?
“I wouldn't give up eternity in heaven for 15 minutes of fame on earth.”
This may come as a surprise to you but not everyone believes that YOUR superstition is the correct one. I’m not terribly afraid of going to hell because I tossed a chick tract OR a cheap knock-off of one.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
