"Not natural"(inconsistent with or against the natural order of things) is indeed an argument. The best argument imo, because permitting gay marriage is essentially equalizing heterosexuality with homosexuality - and it doesn't take a scholar to see that the two are not equal.
[Not the best argument because we actually see homosexuality in nature. Ta da!]
There's a lot of unnatural things that occur in nature, hence the existence of the words "unnatural" and "abnormal" or even "freak" or "anomaly", and the list continues.... so what?
[It's the line "There's a lot of unnatural things that occur in nature" that gets me.]

What are you on? You might want to discontinue using it.
If it is in nature, it is NATURAL. Just because something is an exception to what we see as the norm (and you learn quickly in biology that nearly every 'rule' has an exception -- e.g. mammals give live birth) doesn't make it unnatural.
There's a book, perhaps you might have heard of it. It is called "The Dictionary." It is a catalog of words, their meanings, and how to use them; not scintillating reading, I know, but it would help because, in case you didn't know, WORDS HAVE MEANINGS.
If it's nature, that makes something natural. By definition.
You ignorant slut.
"There's a lot of unnatural things that occur in nature..."
..No. No, there isn't. If it occurred in nature, it is by definition natural. Even if it is an anomaly, it is still natural. Idiot.
"There's a lot of unnatural things that occur in nature..."
I am speechless. Mainly because toth and Mrs. Antichrist beat me to it. Wait, let me try one... There are a lot of atheists who believe in God.

Their respective relationships are not the same, but that does not make the status of their relationship unequal!!

"Wait, let me try one... There are a lot of atheists who believe in God."
Actually, that's a bad example. Fundies, after all, tend to believe that we "non-believers" actually do believe, and are simply denying that belief in a sad attempt to evade cosmic justice.

@rat of steel: sorry i misread that as "comic justice" at first!
*giggles* Well, Voltaire did say once that "God is a comic, playing to an audience afraid to laugh".
The silly thing is that CARM presents this image of representing truely the correct way that gender roles should be practised and yet Diane Sellner, the second in command is the complete antithesis of all that is usually associated with femininity.... I secretly suspect that she is an ex male army officer in drag! This, of course, makes her/him and her/his partner (if there is one) GAY.
Okay, first, as has been said, if it's in nature, it's natural. Period. End statement. It can be an anomaly, but it's still natural.
Second, we're tossing out what's unnatural now? Fine. Burn down your house. Throw out your glasses, should you have any. Get rid of your clothes, start hunting your own food (By hand, by the way) quit your job, ditch you money...all of that is unnatural...and far more so than my sexuality.
There's a lot of unnatural things that occur in nature, hence the existence of the words "unnatural" and "abnormal" or even "freak" or "anomaly", and the list continues.... so what?
Then those "unnatural" things are natural. Way to shoot your own argument in the foot.
This was starting to get a little complicated, so I decided to look up the official meaning:
unnatural (adj.):
Anything that I personally dislike or find icky. i.e. gheyz
And then 949114 nailed it exactly. Since humans are a product of nature, all our actions are completely natural. The "natural" and "artificial" thing is just bullshit used to market granola and argue against homosexuality and corn syrup.
"Not natural"(inconsistent with or against the natural order of things) is indeed an argument. "
There are many unnatural things that we humans do every day.
"The best argument imo, because permitting gay marriage is essentially equalizing heterosexuality with homosexuality - and it doesn't take a scholar to see that the two are not equal. "
I'm pretty certian people said the same thing about blacks 50 years ago.
"There's a lot of unnatural things that occur in nature,"
No. Natural things occur in nature. Unnatural would be like seeing a duck with gogles.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
