This helps proves that Christianity is true.
A few days ago, there was a paraglider who was swept up into a storm to thousands of feet above the normal paraglider height. It was freezing, but she lived. The others didn't, it was a miracle. She is an atheist.
I think God was trying to get her to be a Christian. Hopefully she will not be stupid and she will convert after this. This was an opportunity that Jesus gave her to keep her from burning in Hell forever.
This proves that God is fair and that he gives people that deserve to burn in Hell a second chance.

If the exact opposite had occurred, you would be exclaiming how it was God's divine wrath, so just shut up all right? The eighteenth century ended ages ago, so you can stop pretending that the weather is somehow related to Gawd.
Question: What has Chris K taught me?
Answer: Remain an atheist because god will save my life in order to try to convert me down the road. If I am converted now I may very die if I get into an accident later on. Thanks bud, I'll do just that, and when god saves from dying after falling out of the sky, which is a situation I would never put myself in, we'll talk again...Idiot.
Wow, what an argument for NOT converting.
"seriously dude, he saved you so you will believe in him"
"ok, what happens if i believe and am in another accident"
"you die"
"riiiiight...."
This doesn't prove anything. She was the lucky one. Were the other ones devout Christians? Even if that is the case, it STILL doesn't prove anything. It just shows that you heard a story which may or may not have been true, happened to know that the sole survivor was an atheist, and decided that it proved what you believe is true.
OK, so let's see now:
Christian survives: Obviously, if she was saved for her faith. This proves God exists.
Atheist survives: Obviously, God's trying to convert her. This proves God exists.
So you win either way. How convenient.
First, do you have a link to the article describing the event, If not its just your claim.
Second, can you show clear evidence of the religious and/or philosophical positions of the supposed "others".
Third, can you show evidence that a god of any sort was involved.
No? Then its just an anecdote
Yes, this story is true. However, whether or not the woman that lived was an athiest and the man that died and was found miles away was xian is completely unsubstantiated.
Probably another fundie lie. It never ceases to amaze me how the religious retards will latch onto things and try to twist them into something to promote their own agenda.
Fortunatly, it usually comes off as completely stupid as this does.
Fundie guide to how God works:
If something bad happens to a Christian, it was God testing their faith.
If something good happens to a Christian, it was God's reward.
If something bad happens to an atheist, it was God's punishment.
If something good happens to an atheist, it was God trying to win them back to the faith.
This proves that God is fair and that he gives people that deserve to burn in Hell a second chance.
Except for the people who deserve to burn in hell who are punished. He's not fair to those. And those good Christians who died. He's not fair to them, either. Other than that, God is perfectly fair.
if god does indeed intend to convert atheists, why not just tell them, it would get the message across far better than paragliding in a thunderstorm, jesus should do a course on advertising, he would learn a LOT
This reminds me of a local news story some years ago, where a woman had survived a parachute jump when her parachute malfunctioned. She appeared on tv in a body cast in a wheelchair, and said she was the luckiest person in the world. My boyfriend remarked that if she had broken both legs, she would have been luckier still.
It's all in the way you look at it.
What would Chris K have said if there had been TWO survivors -- one Atheist, and one Christian?
Would he have said:
"Well, gee, I guess that sure proves that God doesn't exist and that accident survival is just a matter of dumb luck!"
?
Somehow, I doubt it....
> This proves that God is fair and that he gives people ... a second chance.<
So god is merciful...
> people that deserve to burn in Hell <
... but you are not.
I guess to forgive is divine.
A car with three people in it fell into a freezing river. The snow had been piled up as a kind of ramp (unintentionally, of course) and the car went off the road and into the river. The driver survived, the other two died in hospital.
What did God think of here? Did she deserve a living hell? She must suffer so bad from survivor's guilt - she drove into the river, her friends (or family perhaps) died as a consequence, but she's still alive.
Or, it was just a horrible accident. No god involvement, at all.
No, all that proves is that it is possible for a paraglider to survive being swept up into a storm, but that it is also possible not to survive it.
Now, it would be different if a hand had magically appeared from the clouds and gently deposited her back on the ground. That would simultaneously "prove" that God exists and that he is a dick - what about the paragliders who died? Is God not omnipotent enough to safely pluck them all from the storm and let them live?
Pyro, mod (and epic), since you were the last commenter on this post, can you PLEASE add a previous button to the category section? Because the back arrow isn’t always effective. Also, OP, DIAF! (With some extra gasoline!)
